Description

This is the Desert Eagle | Blaze in Factory New (FN), the main wear: the paint's wear scale stops at 0.08, so the only other wear is Minimal Wear. In Factory New the float band runs from 0.00 to 0.07. Restricted rank; the skin belongs to The Dust Collection.

What the Desert Eagle | Blaze looks like in Factory New

Only the front half of the pistol is painted. The front of the slide, the ring at the muzzle and the rail under the barrel are bright orange-gold. Dark red flames with a black outline climb back across them from the bottom. The paint boundary runs about halfway along the slide. The rear section with the serrations, the back of the frame, the trigger guard, the grip and the magazine are bare black.

Translucent paints are airbrushed over a chrome base and the chrome shows through, so the flames look three-dimensional rather than printed. The main feature sits right on the border between painted and black, near the middle of the slide. The engraving is not legible under the paint, and the body has no other shapes or lettering.

In Factory New the outlines of the flames are intact and the chrome under the paint is mirror-bright. On this Deagle the first to lighten are the protruding teeth of the rail and the rim of the muzzle ring, then the ribs of the slide. The thin black outlines break up before the solid orange fill does, and the flat side of the slide holds the artwork longest.

Where the Desert Eagle | Blaze came from

The author of the paint is Valve itself: the artwork was made in-house, with no Steam Workshop submission behind it. The Dust Collection arrived in the game on August 14, 2013. Valve's catalog number for the skin is 37, one of the very first in the game; skins from 2023 have four-digit ones.

What to check before buying

What matters when buying the Desert Eagle | Blaze:

  • the pattern: the paint is airbrushed, so the flames fall differently on every copy. This is the main thing to choose by, more important than the float;

  • how the artwork sits on the left side of the slide, the one you see in hand and in inspect;

  • where the line between orange and black falls: on some copies it is shifted forward, leaving less fire on the body;

  • stickers on the body of the Desert Eagle | Blaze and a name tag, if there is one.

The band is short, 0.00 to 0.07, so there is no point chasing the number. Pattern variance makes a far bigger difference between listings than the float does.

What the Desert Eagle | Blaze costs in Factory New

There is only one neighboring wear: Minimal Wear costs about two-fifths more. The reason is the scale: the paint's wear ends at 0.08, so Minimal Wear (MW) gets a strip only one hundredth wide. The lower wears (Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred) do not exist for this Deagle at all.

Among the Restricted Desert Eagle skins this is the most expensive: all fourteen others cost less. The closest below are both Sunset Storm skins and one other, about a fifth behind, while Pilot is more than three times cheaper.

Getting the Desert Eagle | Blaze

The Desert Eagle | Blaze does not drop from cases: map collections were never put into cases, so copies entered the game as drops.

The second route is a trade-up: a contract of ten skins one rank down from the same collection can produce the Desert Eagle | Blaze. One rank down in the collection are AUG | Copperhead, AWP | Snake Camo and Sawed-Off | Copper. The collection has three Restricted skins, so the result is random: the chance of landing the Deagle is one in three. The pattern is random too, so a good Blaze cannot be built on purpose.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the Desert Eagle | Blaze

There is no StatTrak version of the Desert Eagle | Blaze. Souvenir copies do exist, but there were never Souvenir packages for this skin: those were made only for tournament map collections. Such copies are built through the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player's autograph on an ordinary skin from the inventory.

Flames over chrome make an active background, and stickers read on it selectively: black and white ones hold their shape, while yellow and orange ones merge completely with the flames. Foil stickers fight the chrome glare. Room for a craft remains on the black rear half of the slide and on the frame; the front section with the fire is usually left uncovered.

Who this wear suits

Buying this wear of the Desert Eagle | Blaze makes sense if:

  • you want mirror chrome under the paint with no matte edges;

  • a specific pattern matters: in CS2, Factory New shows the flames most sharply;

  • you want a classic Deagle for CS2 without overpaying, since Factory New costs less than Minimal Wear here.

The paint was made to 2013 standards, and half the pistol is untouched by it. Next to today's designs it looks simple, but you recognize it instantly.
