Description

The Desert Eagle | Code Red in Well-Worn (WW) occupies a narrow float band, 0.38 to 0.45, where the wear is already deep. It is a Covert pistol from the Horizon Case. In price, Well-Worn barely differs from the other two of the lowest wears: Field-Tested and Battle-Scarred cost the same.

What the Desert Eagle | Code Red looks like in Well-Worn

The pistol is red and silver. The slide is flooded with bright red paint, and a silver-white inlay with slots and the lettering Magnum Research Inc. runs along it. Small red serrations at the rear of the slide show against gray metal. The frame, trigger guard and grip panel are dark, and below the slide only the magazine base is red.

The red planes of the slide are smooth and large, so Well-Worn shows most there: scuffs sit right on the red and are visible at first glance. The silver inlay with its engraving and the black frame stand up to wear better. The float is set at drop, and a listing will get neither cleaner nor dirtier.

Where the Desert Eagle | Code Red came from

The Desert Eagle | Code Red was released on August 1, 2018, together with the Horizon Collection. The artwork is by DasDas, and the finish's number in Valve's catalog is 711.

What to check before buying

Compare these across Desert Eagle | Code Red listings:

  • the float: this wear gets the band from 0.38 to 0.45, 7% of the skin's scale, and the spread is so small that choosing by float is pointless;

  • whether the Desert Eagle | Code Red carries stickers and a name tag;

  • the size of the scuffs on the red slide, which the listing photo shows better than the number does.

The artwork on the Desert Eagle | Code Red is fixed and does not depend on the copy.

What the Desert Eagle | Code Red costs in Well-Worn

Here is where Well-Worn stands against the other wears:

  • Factory New costs 4.25 times as much;

  • Minimal Wear costs 1.27 times as much;

  • Field-Tested and Battle-Scarred cost the same, with a difference of under three percent.

Of three Covert Desert Eagles with a price in this wear, Code Red stands in the middle. Desert Eagle | Ocean Drive costs about one and a half times as much, and Desert Eagle | Printstream is a tenth cheaper. The three lowest wears of the skin cost nearly the same, so going below Well-Worn to save money makes no sense.

Getting the Desert Eagle | Code Red

The skin comes from the Horizon Case. To trade up into the Desert Eagle | Code Red, you need ten skins of the rank below from this set. The collection has two Covert skins, and the pistol is one outcome in two.

StatTrak and Souvenir

A StatTrak version of the Desert Eagle | Code Red exists in the game. No souvenir packages were released for it, but you can build a Souvenir copy yourself through the Souvenir-O-Matic.

Stickers and craft on the Desert Eagle | Code Red

Worn red paint is a mottled backdrop for a sticker, and small ones do not stand out on it. Large light stickers read better on the slide and the grip. The silver inlay carries the factory lettering, so it is better left open.

Who this wear suits

Well-Worn is a sensible choice for the Desert Eagle | Code Red in these situations:

  • you want a red pistol for CS2 and visible wear on the paint does not bother you;

  • you are choosing among the three lowest wears, and Well-Worn costs about the same as its neighbors;

  • stickers need a flat surface, and on the black grip and the silver inlay they read better than on worn red.
