Description

Field-Tested (FT) is the middle of the scale for the Desert Eagle | Heat Treated, the Deagle finished in tempering colors. The grade covers 0.15 to 0.38, while the finish itself runs the full 0.00 to 1.00. The rank is Classified. Its origin is unusual: a limited-time item out of the Armory rather than case contents.

What the Desert Eagle | Heat Treated looks like in Field-Tested

Slide and frame are covered in temper stains, the marks steel takes on when it is hardened. The color runs as one unbroken field of steel blue, purple, coppery brown and pale cream, with a brown band along the top of the slide. The brightest blue lies across the middle of the slide and on the front of the frame. Grip panels and trigger stay bare dark gray metal.

The ring at the muzzle, the sight rails and the slide edges carry a polished brassy gold shine. There is no drawn device at all here, and the engraving on the slide cannot be read. The whole effect rests on metal color that shifts as the pistol turns.

The gold lies exactly on the raised edges, so in Field-Tested the scrapes come out there first. The muzzle ring and the sight rails go, then the teeth of the rail under the barrel. The flat side of the slide with its blue swirls stays readable longest, and the main field of color is whole in this grade.

Where the Desert Eagle | Heat Treated came from

No Workshop submission stands behind the finish, since Valve made it in house. The catalog number is 1054. In a note dated October 2, 2024, Valve ran through the contents of the Armory update. This Deagle got a line of its own there, beside the Gallery Case and the new charms.

The limited item carrying the skin went out on October 2, 2024. On January 15, 2025, Valve announced that it could no longer be claimed from the Armory.

What to check before buying

The pattern is rolled on this finish. The share of blue, purple and gold differs on every copy. Two listings at the same float can look nothing alike, and copies with a broad blue field on the slide stand out from the rest. The choice here starts with the picture, not the number.

Worth checking before paying for a Desert Eagle | Heat Treated:

  • pattern: how much blue there is and where it lies, which is the main thing to pick by;

  • float, which decides how wide the scrapes along the gold edges will be;

  • stickers from a previous owner and a rename on the Desert Eagle | Heat Treated.

Across 0.15 to 0.38 the Desert Eagle | Heat Treated changes to the eye, so the number is read as well.

What the Desert Eagle | Heat Treated costs in Field-Tested

The other grades price up like this:

  • Factory New is more than twenty times dearer;

  • Minimal Wear stands at roughly two and a half times this grade;

  • Well-Worn is cheaper by roughly a tenth;

  • Battle-Scarred by roughly the same.

Among Classified Desert Eagle finishes this one is the cheapest, with all seven others above it. Desert Eagle | Mecha Industries costs several times more. Desert Eagle | Eastern Enigma and Desert Eagle | Kumicho Dragon go past ten times, and Desert Eagle | Fennec Fox higher still.

Those grade figures need reading with the pattern in mind. A good copy in Field-Tested can cost more than a dull one in Minimal Wear, which is ordinary for a skin whose art is rolled.

Getting the Desert Eagle | Heat Treated

No CS2 case contains the Desert Eagle | Heat Treated. It belongs to no collection either: the item is marked limited, and it was never tied to a map set or a case. Armory credits are earned as match experience, but this entry left the catalog long ago, so a finished listing from another player is what remains.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the Desert Eagle | Heat Treated

No StatTrak version of the Desert Eagle | Heat Treated was ever released. Souvenir copies do turn up, but no Souvenir packages were made for this finish: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. Those copies are built with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory.

Temper stains make a difficult base: the metal shifts color on its own and stickers get lost on it. Flat black and white ones hold up better than colored ones, and holograms argue with the metallic shine. The room for a CS2 craft is on the frame below the slide. The side of the slide with the blue field is better left bare, because that is what the skin is bought for.

Who this wear suits

This grade is worth buying when:

  • a Deagle with live metal color is wanted, rather than a printed device;

  • the pattern counts for more than perfectly clean edges;

  • there is patience for scrolling listings, a good mix of colors not turning up at once.

The premium for the clean grades here is twentyfold, and in Field-Tested the scrapes on the gold edges break the picture up a little. Listings below 0.20 barely show that.
