The Desert Eagle | Light Rail in Field-Tested (FT) is a glossy black Deagle on which wear is already visible but the artwork is intact. The float range of this wear runs from 0.15 to 0.38, and the finish's ceiling is 0.90. It is a Restricted skin that drops from the Prisma Case.
What the Desert Eagle | Light Rail looks like in Field-Tested
The lower part of the body is glossy black, while the top of the slide is flooded with a dark amber-copper gradient that lightens to gold toward the muzzle. Rows of vertical slots are cut into the slide and the grip. The front sight is bright yellow, and the remaining parts are silver or black.
Valve calls the finish an optical illusion that seems to change the geometry of the weapon, and adds a joke: the necessary power supply is sold separately. The illusion comes from the slots and the gradient.
In Field-Tested the wear reads with contrast on the gloss: light scratches gather on the edges of the slide and the grip, and the amber gradient grays at the borders. The slots lie deep and stay crisp, so the overall look holds.
Where the Desert Eagle | Light Rail came from
The Prisma Collection was released on March 13, 2019, and the Desert Eagle | Light Rail has been in the set since launch. It is one of the case's seventeen finishes, and there it shares the Restricted rank with four others.
What to check before buying
What matters when you buy a Desert Eagle | Light Rail:
- float: the closer to 0.38, the more light scratches on the gloss;
- the edges of the slide and the ridge of the grip, where wear appears first;
- the stickers and name tag the pistol already carries.
The Desert Eagle | Light Rail has no pattern variants, so there is nothing to choose by pattern. In this wear it spans a long segment, 0.15 to 0.38, so comparing several listings makes sense.
What the Desert Eagle | Light Rail costs in Field-Tested
The other wears, measured against this one:
- Factory New costs fourteen times more;
- Minimal Wear costs two and a quarter times more;
- Well-Worn is cheaper by a few percent;
- Battle-Scarred is cheaper by a few percent.
The top is cut off sharply: the Factory New band takes less than one twelfth of the scale, while Field-Tested takes about a quarter. The two lowest wears cost almost the same, and there is no point in going lower.
Among Restricted Deagles in this wear, the finish ranks fourth from the bottom of fourteen. Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike is cheaper by more than half, and two more skins cost a fifth less: Desert Eagle | Trigger Discipline and Desert Eagle | Firebreathing. Desert Eagle | Directive costs about a quarter more, and Desert Eagle | Naga almost twice as much. The top of the row is taken by Desert Eagle | Hand Cannon and the two Desert Eagle | Sunset Storm variants.
Getting the Desert Eagle | Light Rail
The Deagle drops from the Prisma Case, and no other case contains this finish.
Ten skins one rank below can be traded up for the Desert Eagle | Light Rail if they are Prisma skins. The Prisma Case has five Restricted finishes, so the odds of getting this Deagle are one in five.
StatTrak and Souvenir
Stickers and craft on the Desert Eagle | Light Rail
The Desert Eagle | Light Rail has a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were ever released for this finish: they existed only for tournament map collections. You can still build a Souvenir copy yourself, though. The Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from your inventory. That is why a stray Souvenir copy turns up now and then even where no packages ever existed.
The glossy black background takes light stickers better than dark ones. The golden top of the slide clashes with red and yellow stickers, while white, light blue and silver ones read on it. For a craft in CS2 it is better not to cover the pattern of slots with large stickers.
Who this wear suits
A Desert Eagle | Light Rail in Field-Tested is a sensible buy if:
- you want a CS2 Deagle with black gloss and a golden top, priced in the bottom third of its rank;
- saving matters, since the two lowest wears cost almost the same;
- you are ready to compare listings by float across a long band.
For intact gloss without light scratches you have to go to Factory New, and there the price is fourteen times higher.
