Description

The Desert Eagle | Mecha Industries in Field-Tested is the middle wear of the five. The float band for this wear is 0.15–0.38. It is Classified rank, and the Desert Eagle | Mecha Industries drops from the Danger Zone Case. The skin entered the game on December 6, 2018.

What the Desert Eagle | Mecha Industries looks like in Field-Tested

The pistol is assembled from light and dark panels, like a technical mockup. The slide and frame are almost white with a faint gray cast; the insert under the slide and the grip panel are black, with a fine grain texture. An orange-red stripe runs along the top of the slide beside the ejection port, and it is the only bright spot on the whole body.

The details are deliberately mechanical. There are slanted vent slots at the muzzle and a round dial with a needle on the left side. A rectangular logo stamp sits next to them, with three small red icons alongside. A round grid, like a speaker, is etched into the grip panel. Red marks the spot by the safety and the stripe along the bottom of the grip.

In Field-Tested (FT) the light panels fade to gray at the edges: earliest on the slide edge, at the muzzle and on the raised parts of the frame. The orange stripe is sunk into a groove and stays bright, and the black inserts barely show wear. The Desert Eagle | Mecha Industries is worth choosing by the number rather than by the wear label: the 0.15–0.38 band is wide.

Where the Desert Eagle | Mecha Industries came from

The author is coyote37 of the Steam Workshop, who worked in a pair with an artist going by Hanzo. They put the submission up on April 23, 2016 and titled the pistol Deagle Model_03, the third item of the Mecha Industries series.

Before the Deagle, the series in the game was represented by the M4A1-S and the FAMAS. The finish itself reached the game only on December 6, 2018, two and a half years after the submission, and Valve's catalog numbers it 805.

Valve announced the case in a note dated December 7, 2018, alongside the new mode: "Introducing Danger Zone".

What to check before buying

What to look at when choosing:

  • the float: the gray haze on the light panels is the main thing that changes within the wear;

  • the slide edge and the raised parts of the frame, where scuffing shows first;

  • a previous owner's stickers and name tag.

Copies differ only in wear: the artwork is the same on all of them.

What the Desert Eagle | Mecha Industries costs in Field-Tested

The floor price is shown above, in the listing.

The other wears against this one:

  • Factory New asks about five times the price;

  • Minimal Wear costs about two thirds more;

  • Well-Worn costs about a sixth more;

  • Battle-Scarred costs the same.

Nothing here is cheaper than this wear: Battle-Scarred is level, and Well-Worn already costs more. The fivefold gap to Factory New comes down to the light base, where gray haze shows at once.

There are eight Classified Desert Eagles in CS2. The Mecha Industries is second from the bottom by price; only the Heat Treated from the Armory is cheaper. The nearest one above, the Eastern Enigma, costs about three times as much.

Getting the Desert Eagle | Mecha Industries

The first route is the Danger Zone Case; no other case holds this finish. To get the Desert Eagle | Mecha Industries in a trade-up contract, you hand in ten skins of the rank below from the same collection.

The set has three Classified skins, so the trade-up returns one of three.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the Desert Eagle | Mecha Industries

The Desert Eagle | Mecha Industries has a StatTrak™ version. Souvenir copies of the finish exist too, but no packages were ever released for it: they were made only for the map collections of tournaments. Such copies are built through the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from your inventory.

A light body with black inserts accepts any color: bright stickers read at once, while white and gray ones merge into the panels. It is a convenient base for a sticker craft in CS2. There is room on the slide behind the ejection port and on the frame.

Who this wear suits

The Desert Eagle | Mecha Industries in Field-Tested is worth buying when:

  • you want a Classified Desert Eagle at the low end of the rank and see no reason to pay five times as much for Factory New;

  • there is nowhere lower to go: Battle-Scarred costs the same;

  • you need an even background for stickers that does not argue with their colors.

The gray haze along the edges of the light panels is what sets this wear apart from Minimal Wear. If you want a clean white body, look higher on the scale.
