Factory New (FN) is the most expensive of the five wears of the Desert Eagle | Ocean Drive, a Covert Deagle. The skin from The Operation Riptide Collection looks here the way it was designed to: not one scuff on the bright planes.
What the Desert Eagle | Ocean Drive looks like in Factory New
The slide and frame are broken into slanted planes. Violet takes up most of the area, orange comes in wide wedges, and mint-turquoise is gathered into triangles. A fine grid of dots lies over the planes and gives the color a grain. The muzzle and trigger guard are turquoise, and the lower part of the grip is orange.
In Factory New the clean borders of the planes and the even grid of dots are visible in full, and the edges do not glint with metal. Clean paint is what sets this wear apart from the other four.
What to check before buying
When picking a listing, this is what matters:
- float within the 0.00–0.07 band;
- the name tag and stickers a past owner left on the pistol.
This wear lies between 0.00 and 0.07. The spread is so small that picking by float is pointless. There are no pattern variants either, so there is nothing to choose by pattern.
What the Desert Eagle | Ocean Drive costs in Factory New
The other wears are cheaper than this one like so:
- Minimal Wear, by almost three times;
- Field-Tested, by more than three times;
- Well-Worn, by more than three times;
- Battle-Scarred, by more than three times.
The three lower wears cost nearly the same, and the entire surcharge falls on Factory New: it costs more than three times as much as any of them.
Among the four Covert Desert Eagles, this skin in Factory New is the most expensive. Golden Koi is cheaper by about a twelfth, Code Red by a seventh, and Printstream costs a third as much.
Getting the Desert Eagle | Ocean Drive
The skin comes from the Operation Riptide Case. Another source is a contract of ten skins one rank lower from the same collection. The skin appeared on September 22, 2021, when The Operation Riptide Collection was added to the game.
StatTrak and Souvenir
There is a StatTrak version of the Desert Eagle | Ocean Drive. No souvenir packages were released for this finish, because they were made only for tournament map collections. A souvenir copy can be assembled on your own through the Souvenir-O-Matic, which hangs gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a regular skin from your inventory.
Stickers and craft on the Desert Eagle | Ocean Drive
On a clean body a sticker is the only foreign element, and it is visible in full. White and black stickers look good, while red and violet ones merge with the planes. It is better to leave the mint triangles by the muzzle open: the turquoise accent rests on them.
Who this wear suits
Factory New on the Desert Eagle | Ocean Drive makes sense when:
- you want undamaged paint and an even dot grid;
- the skin goes into a set or a craft where cleanliness is prized;
- paying three times as much as for the lower wears does not put you off.
For CS2 play wear changes nothing: it has no effect on shooting.
