Battle-Scarred (BS) stands out among the wears of the Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike for its ceiling. The finish does not wear past 0.57, so the band is cut off at the top. It runs from 0.45 to 0.57, around a fifth of the skin's whole scale. Rank is Restricted, and the set is The Fever Collection.
What the Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike looks like in Battle-Scarred
The slide and the top of the frame are covered in snake scales of russet and orange, with dark red and burgundy areas. Vivid orange inserts sit at the muzzle and on the trigger. The grip panels are dark gray, with a burgundy-red relief running across them, a coiled snake. The magazine and the bottom of the frame stayed gray.
Battle-Scarred means the heaviest wear. The slide edge and the frame corners lighten, and the orange scales there go down to gray metal. The dark pattern on the grip lasts longer, so the snake reads even on the most scuffed copy. The wear was set at the drop and does not grow further.
Where the Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike came from
The artist is nikto, and the finish is number 1189 in Valve's catalog. It came out on March 31, 2025 with The Fever Collection, and in the update note Valve named the case in a single line: "The Fever Case".
What to check before buying
Copies of this Deagle differ in the following:
- float: the finish's ceiling is 0.57, and in BS the band runs right up against the top of the scale;
- placement of the pattern on the slide: the scales lie differently, with details below;
- stickers on the Desert Eagle and a rename, if there is one.
Between 0.45 and 0.57 the look of the Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike does not change.
Pattern variance on the Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike
The finish is a Spray-Paint applied through a stencil, and the stencil lands with an offset. Copies differ not just in wear but in how the scales fell on the slide. Before paying, look the copy over and compare where the dark red areas run.
What the Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike costs in Battle-Scarred
The other wears, relative to Battle-Scarred:
- Factory New is 3.1 times dearer;
- Minimal Wear is 1.6 times dearer;
- Field-Tested is 1.2 times dearer;
- Well-Worn is 1.3 times dearer.
Of the Restricted Desert Eagles, this finish is the cheapest in this wear: not a single one costs less. Closest to it is Desert Eagle | Trigger Discipline, then Desert Eagle | Firebreathing and Desert Eagle | Mulberry. At the other end of the rank stand Desert Eagle | Pilot and the two Sunset Storm finishes (壱 and 弐), costing tens and hundreds of times more.
Getting the Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike
This Deagle drops from the Fever Case, and no other case carries the finish.
The second route is the trade-up contract: ten Mil-Spec skins, from anywhere. The result comes from the collection of one of them. A player who puts in ten skins from The Fever Collection gets a Restricted skin from that set, and this Deagle comes up at one in five.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike has a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were issued for the finish, since those were made only for tournament map collections. A Souvenir copy can be built yourself through the Souvenir-O-Matic.
Stickers and craft on the Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike
Scales run over the whole slide, including the bevel at the muzzle, so there is no even field for stickers. The dark gray magazine and the bottom of the frame stay free. The russet background overpowers warm stickers, and white and light blue read better on it than red.
Who this wear suits
Battle-Scarred is worth buying on this Deagle if:
- you want a Deagle in snake scales at the lowest price of the five wears;
- bare light metal on the slide edge and the frame corners does not bother you;
- the Deagle is for CS2 matches, where the look of the edge does not affect play.
For unbroken scales, look at Minimal Wear or Factory New. This finish has no floats above 0.57.
