Dreams & Nightmares Case

The Dreams & Nightmares Case is a base-grade CS2 case that Valve released on January 21, 2022. It is built entirely from community work: all seventeen skins were picked from the Dreams & Nightmares contest, which drew more than fifteen thousand submissions. Its rare special items are Gamma knives, the same ones found in the Operation Riptide Case.

What's in the Dreams & Nightmares Case

The seventeen skins break down by rank as seven Mil-Spec, five Restricted, three Classified and two Covert. The Covert pair is AK-47 | Nightwish and MP9 | Starlight Protector, which are also the most expensive skins in the set.

The Classified skins are Dual Berettas | Melondrama, FAMAS | Rapid Eye Movement and MP7 | Abyssal Apparition. Below them come M4A1-S | Night Terror, USP-S | Ticket to Hell and XM1014 | Zombie Offensive, followed by the remaining Mil-Spec and Restricted skins.

Which knives drop from the Dreams & Nightmares Case

The rare special item is a knife in one of five models: Bowie Knife, Butterfly Knife, Falchion Knife, Huntsman Knife or Shadow Daggers. Six finishes are available on them: Gamma Doppler, Lore, Autotronic, Black Laminate, Bright Water and Freehand.

Model, finish and wear are random when the case is opened, and none of them can be chosen. The priciest finish in this pool is Gamma Doppler on the Butterfly Knife; the cheapest are Bright Water and Freehand on Shadow Daggers.

Do you need a key

Yes. The Dreams & Nightmares Case opens only with a key, and keys are bought in the game itself. Since October 2019 keys can't be traded between accounts or sold on marketplaces, so what you buy on LIS-SKINS is the case, not the key.

Opening it is optional. Every item from the case sells on its own, and if you want one particular skin, buying it ready-made costs less.

What the Dreams & Nightmares Case costs

Among CS2 cases, the Dreams & Nightmares Case sits in the lower part of the price range. It dropped in large numbers. Cases from the older operations stopped dropping long ago, so it costs noticeably less than retired cases such as the Glove Case or the Operation Bravo Case.

The gap is not a matter of percentages: a single one of those retired cases sells for as much as a hundred Dreams & Nightmares Cases.

Who it suits

The Dreams & Nightmares Case is worth buying when:

• you want to open a case with a shot at a Gamma knife instead of buying a knife ready-made;


• you need an inexpensive case to stockpile, since it is cheap and moves quickly;


• you like the contest skins: AK-47 | Nightwish and MP9 | Starlight Protector drop nowhere else in the game.
