Dual Berettas | Melondrama (Field-Tested)

The Dual Berettas | Melondrama in Field-Tested (FT) is a pair of dark blue pistols with a grimacing watermelon on each slide. The paint has already worn away at the edges. Its rank is Classified, and it belongs to The Dreams & Nightmares Collection. Both sides can take these pistols in CS2.

What the Dual Berettas | Melondrama looks like in Field-Tested

The base is dark blue, almost inky. Each slide carries a watermelon slice: red flesh, green rind and a snarling face with eyes and teeth. Golden zigzags and dots are scattered around it, and turquoise scribbles run over the grip and slide. The bottom of the grip is red, with ribbed checkering. Valve calls the art a distorted, frightening watermelon on a dark blue background.

For this wear the Dual Berettas | Melondrama has a float of 0.15 to 0.38. At that level the paint is already worn along the edges and raised points. A copy keeps the wear it dropped with.

Where the Dual Berettas | Melondrama came from

Valve released the Dreams & Nightmares Case on January 21, 2022. According to the update note, it holds 17 finishes, picked from the Steam Workshop through a contest of the same name. Valve's caption for this pair is "Sweet dreams...".

What to check before buying

What separates one Dual Berettas | Melondrama listing from another:

• float: Field-Tested runs from 0.15 to 0.38, less than a quarter of the full scale from 0.00 to 1.00;

• the name tag and stickers this Dual Berettas | Melondrama already carries;

• StatTrak: the finish has a counter version, and it is sold as a separate listing.

The pattern of the Dual Berettas | Melondrama repeats from listing to listing without change. The stretch from 0.15 to 0.38 is long, and copies at its two ends differ noticeably.

What the Dual Berettas | Melondrama costs in Field-Tested

The other wears relative to Field-Tested:

• Factory New costs about 2.4 times as much;

• Minimal Wear costs about a tenth more;

• Well-Worn costs a few percent less;

• Battle-Scarred costs about an eighth less.

The three wears from Minimal Wear to Battle-Scarred sit close together, and Factory New stands apart.

Among the three Classified Dual Berettas in this wear, the Dual Berettas | Melondrama is in the middle. The Dual Berettas | Twin Turbo costs about half as much, and the Dual Berettas | Cobra Strike about seven times more.

Getting the Dual Berettas | Melondrama

The skin drops from the Dreams & Nightmares Case, which Valve released in January 2022.

A trade-up can produce it too: ten skins of the rank below, all from one collection. A contract of the collection's Restricted finishes gives one of three Classified ones. The skin itself goes into a trade-up for a Covert: AK-47 | Nightwish or MP9 | Starlight Protector. Among the collection's Classified finishes it is the cheapest way in.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The Dual Berettas | Melondrama has a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were ever issued for this finish, since those were made only for tournament map collections. A Souvenir copy can still be built through the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a regular skin.

Stickers and craft on the Dual Berettas | Melondrama

The dark blue background takes light and warm stickers, and the red watermelon slice echoes red and pink ones. The golden zigzags and turquoise scribbles belong to the artwork, so small stickers get lost on them. Clean spots for a large sticker are few: the closest are the dark blue areas by the barrels.

Who this wear suits

Buying the Dual Berettas | Melondrama in Field-Tested makes sense under these conditions:

• you want the watermelon art with the paint rubbed off at the edges and the face still legible;

• price matters: Factory New costs more than twice as much;

• you want an entry into a Covert trade-up: among the collection's Classified finishes this one is the cheapest.
