The FAMAS | Rapid Eye Movement in Battle-Scarred (BS) is the roughest condition of a skin whose float scale runs the full length from 0.00 to 1.00. The rank is Classified, the skin plays on the Counter-Terrorist side, and the set is Dreams & Nightmares. In CS2 it is a rifle with rows of eyes and heavily scuffed panel edges.
What the FAMAS | Rapid Eye Movement looks like in Battle-Scarred
Valve describes the artwork as pink interlocking squares with living eyes. On the model it comes out as rectangular riveted panels, raspberry-red and pink-purple on the receiver and blue-violet nearer the magazine and stock. Every panel has an eye looking out, and some of the squares hold a bulging eyeball with no eyelid.
Battle-Scarred on this skin covers floats from 0.45 to 1.00. Go by the number rather than the wear label, because a band of 0.45 to 1.00 is wide. Near 0.45 the scuffing is moderate. Toward 1.00 the eyelid outlines are worn away, the edges of the carry handle and the guard ring are chipped, and more bare metal shows.
Where the FAMAS | Rapid Eye Movement came from
Behind the skin stands Sparkwire, a Steam Workshop artist. His submission "Rapid Eyes | D&N | FAMAS" appeared on October 19, 2021, and in it he wrote about the phase of REM sleep in which most dreams are seen.
The skin entered the game on January 21, 2022, together with the Dreams & Nightmares set. In Valve's catalog it carries number 1127.
What to check before buying
A few points are worth a look before you buy:
- float: the band takes up 55% of the scale, and the difference between its two edges is visible to the eye;
- stickers from earlier owners and a name tag already on the copy.
The artwork is applied identically to every copy, so listings should be compared by wear alone.
What the FAMAS | Rapid Eye Movement costs in Battle-Scarred
The other wears, relative to Battle-Scarred:
- Factory New sits at almost triple the price;
- Minimal Wear costs a quarter more;
- Field-Tested costs an eighth more;
- Well-Worn costs a few percent more.
There are no noticeable gaps among the lower four wears, while Factory New is priced on its own.
Of the five Classified FAMAS skins priced in this wear, this one is second from the bottom, but the gap to the first is zero. The FAMAS | Eye of Athena costs the same, and the FAMAS | Djinn twice as much. The FAMAS | Mecha Industries is almost five times higher, and the FAMAS | Waters of Nephthys almost six.
Getting the FAMAS | Rapid Eye Movement
The skin drops from the Dreams & Nightmares Case, and it has no Souvenir packages.
A trade-up also gets you one: ten skins from the rank below, all from a single collection. As an input toward a Covert skin, it is the cheapest way in among the set's Classified skins.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The FAMAS | Rapid Eye Movement comes in a StatTrak version, but there are no Souvenir packages.
Stickers and craft on the FAMAS | Rapid Eye Movement
With so much noise from the panels and eyes, a craft on the side is hard to make out. Large black and white stickers do better than small colored ones, and pink and purple blend into the body. Because of the scuffing, the stock and the magazine area are the natural place for a sticker.
Who this wear suits
Battle-Scarred is a reasonable buy for these reasons:
- it is the minimum entry to the skin, at a price almost equal to Well-Worn;
- the wear does not get in the way as long as the rows of eyes on the side read;
- you can pick a float closer to 0.45 so that more of the paint survives.
