The FAMAS | Roll Cage in Field-Tested (FT) is the middle of the wear scale on a Covert FAMAS. The paint is rubbed at the edges there, and the red artwork still holds. The float band of this wear runs between 0.15 and 0.38. That is 23% of the finish's full scale, which here runs from 0 to 1. The skin belongs to The Gamma 2 Collection and drops from the Gamma 2 Case.
What the FAMAS | Roll Cage looks like in Field-Tested
The base is beige-cream, with red splashes and drips of different sizes. The frame with its arch handle is black, small icons and lettering run along the top arch, and the stock carries a white panel with black strokes. Valve describes the artwork as stickers on the body of a mud-splattered car.
In Field-Tested the scuffs follow the edges of the parts while the artwork stays whole, and the large red spots read in full. Only the degree of paint wear changes.
Where the FAMAS | Roll Cage came from
The finish appeared in August 2016 together with The Gamma 2 Collection. There are two Covert skins in it: this FAMAS and the AK-47 | Neon Revolution. Valve's tagline for the description is two words, "Safety first".
What to check before buying
In a FAMAS | Roll Cage listing, check these:
- the float within 0.15 to 0.38: near the bottom of the band the arch's edges are more intact, near the top the scuffing shows more;
- the arch edges and the red spots by the bolt, which show how much paint the wear has taken;
- the name tag and stickers on this FAMAS | Roll Cage, which stay on the listing.
Copies of the FAMAS | Roll Cage differ only by wear, since the artwork is shared. Anywhere in 0.15 to 0.38 is in range for this wear, and the two ends of the band do look different.
What the FAMAS | Roll Cage costs in Field-Tested
The other wears, relative to this one:
- Factory New costs about a fifth more;
- Minimal Wear costs a few percent more;
- Well-Worn costs a few percent less;
- Battle-Scarred costs a few percent less.
The row is tight for this skin: from Battle-Scarred to Factory New the gap is under a third. The premium for clean paint is modest, which makes the middle of the scale look like a sensible choice.
Among the three Covert FAMAS in this wear, the Roll Cage is the most expensive. FAMAS | Bad Trip is cheaper by about two and a half times, and FAMAS | Commemoration by almost four.
Getting the FAMAS | Roll Cage
The FAMAS | Roll Cage drops from the Gamma 2 Case, and no other case holds this finish.
The second road is a trade-up of ten skins one rank lower from the same collection. There are three Classified finishes in The Gamma 2 Collection: AUG | Syd Mead, MP9 | Airlock and Tec-9 | Fuel Injector. The Covert rank itself also works as an input, since five Covert skins in a contract produce a rare special item.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The FAMAS | Roll Cage has a StatTrak™ version. No souvenir packages were released for this finish, because those were made only for the tournament map collections. You can still build a souvenir copy yourself: the Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a regular skin from your inventory. That is why a stray souvenir copy occasionally turns up even where no packages ever existed.
Stickers and craft on the FAMAS | Roll Cage
The FAMAS has a busy background: red splashes on beige cover almost the whole body. The cleanest spot for a craft is the white panel of the stock, where dark and red stickers read. Warm stickers in the middle of the body blend into the splashes.
Who this wear suits
Buying the FAMAS | Roll Cage in Field-Tested is reasonable in these cases:
- you want a Covert FAMAS in CS2 without paying extra for Factory New, which here is about a fifth;
- you want the red-and-cream finish to read in the CS2 inventory, and clean paint on the edges is not essential;
- choice within the wear matters: the 0.15 to 0.38 band lets you compare several listings.
For untouched paint, Factory New is the answer, and the extra for it is small.
