The Galil AR | Chromatic Aberration in Field-Tested (FT) is a Classified rifle from The Snakebite Collection, built for the Terrorist side in CS2. It drops from the Snakebite Case.
What the Galil AR | Chromatic Aberration looks like in Field-Tested
Valve's description says the paints in this finish are applied slightly offset from one another, so the skin is loud and hard to miss. The name points the same way: chromatic aberration is the splitting of colors at the edges of an image.
In this wear the Galil AR | Chromatic Aberration is allotted a float of 0.15 to 0.38. Wear is fixed at the moment an item drops and stays constant after that. On the skin's own scale, 0.00 to 1.00, the band covers 23%.
Where the Galil AR | Chromatic Aberration came from
The Snakebite Collection came out in May 2021, and the Galil AR | Chromatic Aberration has been in the set since launch. Valve presented the case as seventeen community finishes, with the Broken Fang gloves as its rare items.
What to check before buying
Choosing a particular Galil AR | Chromatic Aberration comes down to these points:
- float: listings between 0.15 and 0.38 differ noticeably in appearance;
- stickers and a name tag already applied to that copy of the Galil AR | Chromatic Aberration.
Copies of the Galil AR | Chromatic Aberration differ only in wear, because they all share one design.
What the Galil AR | Chromatic Aberration costs in Field-Tested
The upper wears cost more, the lower ones only slightly less:
- Factory New is priced at roughly 4.4 times Field-Tested;
- Minimal Wear sits at roughly 1.9 times;
- Well-Worn is cheaper by about a tenth;
- Battle-Scarred saves only a few percent.
Of the four Classified Galil ARs with a price in this wear, this skin is the cheapest. The next one up, the Galil AR | Eco, costs about three and a half times as much. The top of the row is the Galil AR | Sugar Rush.
Getting the Galil AR | Chromatic Aberration
The finish has one case: the Snakebite Case.
The other road to the Galil AR | Chromatic Aberration is a trade-up contract of ten skins one rank lower from the same collection. The collection has three Classified finishes, so the odds are one in three.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The Galil AR | Chromatic Aberration has a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were ever released for this finish, since those were made only for the tournament map collections. A Souvenir copy can still be assembled by hand: the Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from your inventory. That is why a rare Souvenir copy now and then appears even where no packages ever existed.
Stickers and craft on the Galil AR | Chromatic Aberration
Stickers go on top, so the offset colors beneath them stay exactly as they were. The skin has a single design for every copy, which leaves float and applied stickers as the ways to set one copy apart.
Who this wear suits
Field-Tested is worth buying on the Galil AR | Chromatic Aberration if at least one of these fits:
- you want a Classified Galil for CS2, and Factory New would cost about 4.4 times as much;
- visible wear doesn't bother you and the whole 0.15 to 0.38 range suits you;
- Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred are cheaper by only a tenth and a few percent, so going lower in wear gains little.
