Galil AR | Rainbow Spoon (Field-Tested)

Field-Tested (FT) is the cheapest of the five grades the Galil AR | Rainbow Spoon comes in. Float values here run from 0.15 to 0.38. The rank is Classified, the set is The Sport & Field Collection, and no case ever carried this skin. The artwork is rolled, so the listing preview is read as closely as the float number.

What the Galil AR | Rainbow Spoon looks like in Field-Tested

This is a Galil in an oil-slick sheen. Receiver, barrel, magazine and stock shimmer green, teal, purple and pink, like tempered metal. The grip and handguard stay gray-black. The paint lies in a single layer with no borders between colors, and the tone shifts with the viewing angle. Dark lines follow the ribs of the receiver and the stock.

In Field-Tested the raised ribs of the receiver and the lip of the stock go pale, and the sheen drops to flat gray there. The gray plastic shows no wear at all, so the state of a copy is read off the metal alone.

Where the Galil AR | Rainbow Spoon came from

There is no Workshop submission behind the Galil AR | Rainbow Spoon: Valve drew the finish in house, under catalog number 1178. The Sport & Field Collection appeared on October 2, 2024, in the same update as the Armory. In its note Valve presented the Armory as a shop section where rewards are bought with credits earned through playtime.

Pattern variance on the Galil AR | Rainbow Spoon

The sheen comes from heating a painted weapon, and Valve's item description notes that the method yields almost endless unique variants. The spread of colors is particular to each copy and set by the pattern index: one rifle lands in green and teal, another picks up far more purple.

What to check before buying

Picking one Galil AR | Rainbow Spoon over another rests on:

• the float inside 0.15 to 0.38: near the low edge the sheen on the ribs is still unbroken;

• the spread of colors on the preview, since shares of green, purple and pink differ by copy;

• the name tag and stickers this Galil AR | Rainbow Spoon already wears.

The 0.15 to 0.38 band is a wide one: a single wear label covers very different states. The finish's own scale ends at 0.55, so Battle-Scarred takes only the stretch from 0.45 to 0.55.

What the Galil AR | Rainbow Spoon costs in Field-Tested

Nothing inside the finish comes in below this grade. Factory New asks about a third more. Well-Worn is dearer by a sixth, Battle-Scarred by a ninth. Minimal Wear sits practically level, a few percent apart.

Among Classified Galil AR finishes this one ranks third of four by price in this grade. Galil AR | Chromatic Aberration and Galil AR | Eco sit below it. Only Galil AR | Sugar Rush stands above, at better than twice the money.

Getting the Galil AR | Rainbow Spoon

The Sport & Field Collection was never packed into cases: the Armory handed out its finishes.

A contract for this skin asks for ten skins one rank down from the same collection. Five-SeveN | Heat Treated or UMP-45 | Crimson Foil serve as inputs. The set holds two Classified finishes, so the chance of landing the Galil is one in two.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the Galil AR | Rainbow Spoon

No StatTrak version of the Galil AR | Rainbow Spoon was ever released. Souvenir copies do turn up, but no Souvenir packages were made for this finish: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. Those copies are built with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory.

There is room for a craft, since the gray grip and handguard carry no artwork. On the sheen itself graphics get lost, because the background changes color with the angle. Cool greens and blues fall inside the palette; warm reds drop out of it.

Who this wear suits

Buying the Galil AR | Rainbow Spoon here is sensible if:

• a cheap way into the finish is wanted, and rubbed receiver ribs do not bother you;

• the spread of colors matters, since previews inside this grade differ noticeably;

• the rifle goes into CS2 every round rather than into a showcase.

Closer to 0.38 the sheen on the ribs is already broken by gray, while at 0.15 it still holds unbroken.
