The Glock-18 | Block-18 in Factory New (FN): the bricks are intact, protruding studs included, and in the lower wears the studs are exactly what wears off. The wear's float runs from 0.00 to 0.07. Restricted rank; this Glock comes from the Kilowatt Case.
What the Glock-18 | Block-18 looks like in Factory New
The pistol looks built from plastic toy bricks. The main tone is white and light gray, with blue, red, yellow and dark gray blocks mixed into the brickwork. The top of the slide is laid with smooth tiles of white, gray and black. A blue stripe runs along the top edge, and yellow blocks sit at the muzzle and at the rear edge.
The texture covers the slide, the frame and the whole grip, but it is not raised everywhere. On the grip and the front of the frame the bricks stand out as noticeable studs, while on the slide they are smooth tiles. There is no single picture; the main element of the finish is the brickwork itself. The word GLOCK reads on a dark tile of the slide.
The studs stand out the most, and they wear first: on the grip and the front of the frame. The slide edges and the corners of the colored blocks come next, and the wide white tiles on the flat side hold out longest. In Factory New the relief is untouched everywhere, and the brickwork looks whole.
Where the Glock-18 | Block-18 came from
The finish came from the Steam Workshop, and its author goes by Graff. He submitted it on August 30, 2023 under the working title "Block-18 (Mondrian)": the nod to Mondrian is visible right on the slide. In Valve's finish catalog the item is number 1167.
The Kilowatt Collection came out on February 6, 2024. In the update note Valve presented the case as a set of seventeen community finishes, with the kukri knife as the rare special item.
What to check before buying
Before paying for the Glock-18 | Block-18, it is worth checking:
- float: within 0.00 to 0.07 there is almost nothing to choose from, but the studs on the grip deserve a look;
- that the blue stripe along the top edge of the slide and the corners of the colored blocks are intact;
- stickers and a name tag that came to the Glock-18 | Block-18 from a previous owner.
The pattern on the Glock-18 | Block-18 is not drawn by index; all copies are the same. On the Glock-18 | Block-18 the 0.00 to 0.07 band is narrow, and the copies are almost indistinguishable. The finish's full scale breaks off at about 0.67: all five wears exist, but the finish does not run to the end of the float scale.
What the Glock-18 | Block-18 costs in Factory New
How the other wears compare with this one:
- Minimal Wear comes in at about half the price;
- Field-Tested costs three and a half times less;
- Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred are about four times cheaper.
The three lower wears converge on almost one price. Only a sliver of difference remains between them, and the order there is set by a couple of listings, not by how the pistol looks.
Eighteen Restricted Glocks have a price in this wear, and only one is cheaper than this. Moving up, the next finish costs about two thirds more, Glockingbird twice as much, and another almost six times as much. The dearest Restricted Glock, the Fade, costs hundreds of times more.
Getting the Glock-18 | Block-18
The first route is the Kilowatt Case, which opens with a key. A trade-up for the Glock-18 | Block-18 takes ten skins of the rank below from this collection. The collection has five Restricted finishes, so the chance of landing the one you want is one in five.
StatTrak and Souvenir
Stickers and craft on the Glock-18 | Block-18
A StatTrak version of the Glock-18 | Block-18 exists. Souvenir copies of this finish turn up too, but no packages were released for it: they were made only for the tournament map collections. Such copies are built through the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from your inventory.
The brickwork makes for a fragmented background, and a sticker on it breaks into pieces along with the pattern. The flattest spot is the wide white tiles on the side of the slide. The colored blocks pull the eye, so monochrome stickers get along here better than bright ones.
Who this wear suits
Factory New is worth buying for the Glock-18 | Block-18 under these conditions:
- you want intact relief: the studs on the grip go before anything else;
- the Glock is being prepared for a craft in CS2, and the base has to be even;
- the price gap to the lower wears is small, while the look is visibly cleaner.
For CS2 matches the premium is debatable: at a distance the bricks read the same at any float. The whole point of the top wear is the untouched studs and the clean corners of the colored blocks.
