Glock-18 | Moonrise (Battle-Scarred)

Battle-Scarred (BS) is the lowest wear of the Glock-18 | Moonrise. The scale is cut off at the top: this skin's ceiling is 0.65, not 1.00, and no copy is more worn. Floats in this wear lie between 0.45 and 0.65. It is a Restricted skin from The Clutch Collection, with a night city and moon drawn on the slide: a Glock with an intact scene along the whole side.

What the Glock-18 | Moonrise looks like in Battle-Scarred

The slide is flooded with violet, with lilac and pink transitions. A night city runs along the side: near-black tower silhouettes at the bottom, sky higher up, and a pale yellow moon hanging toward the front sight. The frame stays gray-olive, as made, and the grip is unpainted.

Battle-Scarred carries the deepest wear of the five. The slide edge and serrations lighten first, and the city line breaks in those spots. Wear is set at drop and does not grow over time: a copy stays as it arrived.

Where the Glock-18 | Moonrise came from

MGBazz drew the finish, and Valve's catalog lists it as number 694. The Clutch Collection was released in February 2018, and the Glock-18 | Moonrise has been in the set since its launch.

Pattern and the pattern index

The artwork is rolled: the airbrushing over the anodizing lays down differently on every copy, and the color shift depends on the pattern index.

Valve describes the scene as a random city landscape in the foreground, behind which rise a full moon and a violet night sky. So listings are compared on how the city and moon landed, not on the float number alone.

What to check before buying

A few points are worth checking before buying a Glock-18 | Moonrise:

• float within the band of 0.45 to 0.65;


• the position of the city and moon on the slide, which is different on each copy;


• the color of the shift across the sky, which depends on the pattern index;


• a previous owner's stickers and name tag.

The band of 0.45 to 0.65 leaves room to choose: nearer 0.45, copies are cleaner.

What the Glock-18 | Moonrise costs in Battle-Scarred

Each step up in wear costs noticeably more. Factory New costs more than three times as much, Minimal Wear about one and a half times, and Well-Worn about an eighth more. Field-Tested is level with Battle-Scarred.

Among Restricted Glocks priced in this wear, four skins are cheaper and eight dearer. Trace Lock is almost level, Weasel costs about one and a half times as much, and Glockingbird, Block-18 and Umbral Rabbit are cheaper. At the top of the rank stand Brass, Pink DDPAT and Synth Leaf.

Getting the Glock-18 | Moonrise

The Clutch Case is the direct source of the skin.

A trade-up contract also delivers it: ten Mil-Spec skins from any collections go in, and the result comes from the collection of one of the inputs. A whole ten from The Clutch Collection is the player's choice that steers the outcome toward this set, not a condition of the trade-up.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The Glock-18 | Moonrise has a StatTrak version. The finish has no Souvenir packages.

Stickers and craft on the Glock-18 | Moonrise

Stickers land on a violet ground here: light ones read on the sky, and dark ones merge with the near-black building silhouettes. The frame and grip are unpainted, so the slide itself sets the background color.

Who this wear suits

Battle-Scarred is worth buying on the Glock-18 | Moonrise when:

• you want a Glock with the night city at the lowest price of any wear;


• artwork matters more than cleanliness, and you pick the placement of city and moon among listings of any wear;


• the copy sits nearer 0.45, and a scuffed slide edge does not trouble you.

In CS2 wear changes only the look of the skin and has no effect on shooting.
