This is the M4A1-S | Atomic Alloy in Factory New (FN), and the coating is untouched: copper-orange gloss and anodized black hold on every edge. It is a Classified skin from The Huntsman Collection, and it drops from the Huntsman Weapon Case.
What the M4A1-S | Atomic Alloy looks like in Factory New
The skin has no artwork: it is built on the contrast of two colors. The receiver, barrel and rings on the handguard are copper-orange with a mirror shine. The suppressor, handguard, magazine and stock are black, and orange stripes appear only at the ends of the suppressor. Valve's description is a single line, saying the body is anodized in black and orange.
In Factory New the shine on the copper is whole, and the edges of the receiver have no bare gray patches. This wear covers a float of 0.00 to 0.07. The band is narrow, and copies hardly differ from one another.
Where the M4A1-S | Atomic Alloy came from
The skin's author is credited as FACEIT. The Huntsman Collection was added to the game on May 1, 2014, and the M4A1-S | Atomic Alloy arrived in the same update. Valve's note for the next day is short: the Huntsman Case was added to the game. In Valve's catalog the skin has number 301.
What to check before buying
What changes from listing to listing on an M4A1-S | Atomic Alloy:
- float: across 0.00 to 0.07 the number only shows how close a listing is to zero wear;
- the edges of the receiver and suppressor, where a clean copy has no gray spots;
- stickers on the body of the M4A1-S | Atomic Alloy, and a rename if there is one.
There is no point searching the M4A1-S | Atomic Alloy by pattern index: the artwork does not change.
What the M4A1-S | Atomic Alloy costs in Factory New
The other wears relative to this one:
- Minimal Wear is cheaper by roughly a factor of five;
- Field-Tested is cheaper by roughly a factor of 7.7;
- Well-Worn is cheaper by almost a factor of eight;
- Battle-Scarred is cheaper by roughly a factor of 8.5.
The largest drop comes right after the top, from Factory New to Minimal Wear. After that the three worn wears cost almost the same. Factory New takes 0.07 of the finish's 0.90 scale, around eight percent.
Among the fifteen Classified M4A1-S skins in this wear, the skin is sixth from the top: nine are cheaper and five are dearer. M4A1-S | Master Piece is about one and a half times higher, and M4A1-S | Nightmare slightly higher. M4A1-S | Control Panel is cheaper by a third, M4A1-S | Fatal Glitch by more than half, and M4A1-S | Guardian by nearly a factor of four.
Getting the M4A1-S | Atomic Alloy
The skin drops from the Huntsman Weapon Case. A contract for the M4A1-S | Atomic Alloy asks for ten skins one rank lower from the same collection. The collection has four Classified skins, so the chance of getting this one is one in four.
Next comes the Covert rank: ten Classified skins from the set give AK-47 | Vulcan or M4A4 | Desert-Strike.
StatTrak and Souvenir
A StatTrak version of the M4A1-S | Atomic Alloy exists in the game. No Souvenir packages were issued for the skin, but a Souvenir copy can be assembled through the Souvenir-O-Matic.
Stickers and craft on the M4A1-S | Atomic Alloy
A skin without artwork does not compete with a sticker, and the intact coating makes a neat build stand out. On the black handguard, magazine and stock, light and colored stickers read, while on the copper receiver dark and gold ones do. In Factory New a sticker does not cover worn spots, and the craft looks even.
Who this wear suits
Buying the M4A1-S | Atomic Alloy in Factory New makes sense for these jobs:
- an M4A1-S with a suppressor without a single scuff, for CS2;
- a clean base for a craft, where stickers lie on even blocks of color;
- gloss on the edges matters, and a fivefold premium over Minimal Wear is no obstacle.
If minor scuffs are acceptable, Minimal Wear costs about a fifth as much.
