The M4A1-S | Flashback in Factory New (FN) is the top wear of this olive-khaki rifle with cream graffiti. It is Restricted and drops from the Glove Case. In this wear the float stays within 0.00 to 0.07, which is 7% of a scale that runs to 1.00. The other four wears are cheaper by 15 to 38 times.
What the M4A1-S | Flashback looks like in Factory New
The whole body of the rifle, the suppressor included, is covered in graffiti over a camouflage base. The base is olive with swampy green and sandy patches. The lettering and symbols are cream-white, with a yellow cast in places. On the suppressor they are large, on the receiver smaller, and numbers show on the receiver.
There is no picture in the usual sense: it is a collection of inscriptions. Short phrases in Latin letters can be read, others are smeared on purpose. The magazine and grip are made in the same olive palette.
In Factory New the cream letters on the raised edges are fully preserved. These are exactly the inscriptions that wear off first and break into strokes on scuffed copies, which is why intact edges are the point of this wear.
Where the M4A1-S | Flashback came from
The Glove Collection was added in November 2016, and this skin arrived with the same update. It was drawn by Superior Weapons, and the finish is number 631 in Valve's catalog. Valve describes it as a hand-painted piece made in an attempt to hint at the duality of man.
What to check before buying
These are the parameters to check on a listing:
- a float within 0.00 to 0.07, where the difference between listings is minimal;
- the cream lettering on the edges of the suppressor and the receiver;
- the name tag and any stickers already on this rifle.
There is no point hunting for a pattern index: the artwork does not change. The 0.00 to 0.07 band is short, and the difference between listings is lost in the margin of error.
What the M4A1-S | Flashback costs in Factory New
The gap between wears on this skin is very large. Minimal Wear is cheaper by 15 times, Field-Tested by 27 times, Well-Worn by 35 times and Battle-Scarred by 38 times. In other words, Factory New costs 15 to 38 times more than any other wear.
Among Restricted rifles with a price in this wear, the skin is second from the top of nine: seven are cheaper and one costs more. Only the M4A1-S | Icarus Fell is above it, at almost four times the price. The nearest below, the M4A1-S | Basilisk, is cheaper by about five times, and the rest sit lower still.
Getting the M4A1-S | Flashback
The only case that can drop it is the Glove Case.
A trade-up for it takes ten skins one rank lower. It has five Restricted skins, so the chance of this rifle is one in five.
StatTrak and Souvenir
This finish can be had with StatTrak. Souvenir packages were released only for the tournament map collections, so none exists for it. The Souvenir-O-Matic lets you make one, though: it applies gold tournament stickers and a player autograph to a regular skin from your inventory.
Stickers and craft on the M4A1-S | Flashback
The graffiti cover the suppressor, receiver, magazine and stock, so there is almost no free field. Dark and colored stickers read on the olive base, while cream ones merge with the lettering. The magazine and the butt of the stock suit a craft.
Who this wear suits
Factory New pays off for three reasons:
- you want untouched cream lettering on the edges of the suppressor and receiver;
- you want a clean base for a CS2 sticker craft;
- you want the best look this skin ever has.
If clean letters do not matter, the other wears are cheaper by 15 to 38 times.
