The M4A1-S | Golden Coil in Well-Worn (WW) is a Covert skin whose gold is already visibly rubbed, at a price almost four times below Factory New. Copies in this wear carry a float from 0.38 to 0.45.
What the M4A1-S | Golden Coil looks like in Well-Worn
The gold suppressor with its quilting and the gold plate by the magazine well remain the main details. The top of the receiver and the ribbed handguard are black, with gold rings, splashes and swirls over them. The butt plate is orange, the grip cream.
In Well-Worn the diamonds on the suppressor are smoothed, the edge of the plate and the handguard ribs are rubbed through, and gray patches show on the gold. The dark parts stay dark, so gold and black are still sharply separated.
Where the M4A1-S | Golden Coil came from
Kitch.sb filed the Workshop submission on August 30, 2015. The Shadow Collection with this skin came out in September 2015, and the M4A1-S | Golden Coil arrived in the same update.
What to check before buying
A few points are worth checking before you buy an M4A1-S | Golden Coil:
- the float inside 0.38 to 0.45;
- whether the copy has a name tag and stickers left by the previous owner.
By float, this wear takes up 0.38 to 0.45. A spread that small is too narrow to choose by. The pattern is rigidly set and does not depend on the copy.
What the M4A1-S | Golden Coil costs in Well-Worn
The other wears, set against Well-Worn:
- Factory New asks almost four times the price;
- Minimal Wear costs one and a half times as much, and a bit more;
- Field-Tested costs about a fifth more;
- Battle-Scarred is about a tenth cheaper.
In Well-Worn the skin is second from the bottom among Covert M4A1-S finishes. Vaporwave is only a little cheaper, and Player Two costs about a twelfth more. Chantico's Fire, Mecha Industries and Hyper Beast cost a little over twice as much. Cyrex costs more than three times as much, and Welcome to the Jungle more than ten times.
Getting the M4A1-S | Golden Coil
The skin lies in the Shadow Case. A trade-up also yields an M4A1-S | Golden Coil: ten skins one rank below, all from one collection.
StatTrak and Souvenir
You can find the M4A1-S | Golden Coil with StatTrak. No Souvenir packages exist for this finish, because they were made only for tournament map collections, but you can make a Souvenir copy yourself. The Souvenir-O-Matic applies gold tournament stickers and a player autograph to a regular skin from your inventory.
Stickers and craft on the M4A1-S | Golden Coil
Rubbed gold is broken up by patches, so a sticker needs a calm background. The black handguard and the cream grip offer one, and contrasting stickers sit confidently there. On the suppressor itself a sticker would merge with the quilting.
Who this wear suits
Well-Worn suits the M4A1-S | Golden Coil if at least one of these fits:
- the gold matters more than cleanliness, and you will not pay for even diamonds;
- the gold should be better preserved than in Battle-Scarred, without the extra fifth that Field-Tested asks;
- predictability matters: within 0.38 to 0.45 the listings look almost the same.
In CS2 the wear does not matter for play. It changes only the look.
