Factory New (FN) is the top rung for the M4A1-S | Hyper Beast, with floats from 0.00 to 0.07. Every other wear costs roughly half as much, 1.96 to 2.2 times less. It is Covert rank, the rifle drops from the Chroma 2 Case, and in CS2 it is a Counter-Terrorist weapon.
What the M4A1-S | Hyper Beast looks like in Factory New
Almost every surface is painted. Blue-teal covers the handguard, receiver and stock tube, and green veins and pink splashes run over it. The magazine well and the magazine shift to raspberry and orange, with green inserts. The suppressor is dark blue-gray with hardly any artwork, the only large clean part.
In Factory New every color holds full saturation, and the handguard ribs and receiver edges show no light patches. That matters on a skin whose psychedelic artwork is built from the contrast of blue, green and raspberry: any scuffing blurs the borders between them at once. Wear is set at the moment of the drop, so a factory-fresh copy stays factory-fresh.
Where the M4A1-S | Hyper Beast came from
frontaLOBE designed the artwork, and Rene posted it to the Steam Workshop on March 8, 2015. In the description the author left links to the illustrator's Behance page and a poster gallery. The Chroma 2 Collection reached the game on April 15, 2015, and the skin arrived in the same update. Valve lists it in the catalog under number 430.
What to check before buying
What sets a Factory New listing of the M4A1-S | Hyper Beast apart:
- the float: between 0.00 and 0.07 the look does not change, and that is 7% of the skin's scale;
- whether the M4A1-S | Hyper Beast carries stickers and an applied name tag;
- clean handguard ribs and receiver top, where wear shows first.
The artwork is one for all copies, and the pattern index plays no part in the choice.
What the M4A1-S | Hyper Beast costs in Factory New
The other wears are cheaper:
- Minimal Wear by 1.96 times;
- Field-Tested by 2 times;
- Well-Worn by 2.14 times;
- Battle-Scarred by 2.2 times.
The first step down from factory takes off almost half the price, and the later steps are small. Of eleven Covert M4A1-S skins with a price in this wear, seven are cheaper and three are more expensive. The nearest below are M4A1-S | Golden Coil and M4A1-S | Cyrex, about a fifth cheaper. M4A1-S | Mecha Industries trails by a quarter, M4A1-S | Fade by a third. The cheapest are M4A1-S | Vaporwave and M4A1-S | Player Two, and at the top of the rank stands M4A1-S | Printstream.
Getting the M4A1-S | Hyper Beast
The Chroma 2 Case is where the skin drops. By trade-up, ten skins of the rank below from the same collection get you an M4A1-S | Hyper Beast. There are two Covert skins in it, so the result is one of two.
StatTrak and Souvenir
A StatTrak version of the M4A1-S | Hyper Beast exists. Souvenir copies of the finish turn up too, even though no Souvenir packages were released for it: those were made only for tournament map collections. Such copies are built through the Souvenir-O-Matic, which applies gold tournament stickers and a player autograph to a regular skin from your inventory.
Stickers and craft on the M4A1-S | Hyper Beast
On a clean rifle every outline shows, and a sticker over the artwork competes with it. The suppressor and the dark parts are free: a sticker looks cleaner there than on the handguard. Bright teal and pink stickers merge with the body, while white and black ones stand out from it.
Who this wear suits
Factory New is a sensible buy for the M4A1-S | Hyper Beast when at least one of these fits:
- you want psychedelic artwork with full color contrast for CS2;
- handguard ribs without light patches matter to you;
- the rifle goes into a collection as the top wear of a skin from the Chroma 2 Case.
