Description

The M4A1-S | Hyper Beast in Minimal Wear (MW) is a Counter-Terrorist M4A1-S with a beast in acid colors, Covert rank. It drops from the Chroma 2 Case and belongs to The Chroma 2 Collection. This wear of the M4A1-S | Hyper Beast sits between 0.07 and 0.15, which is 8% of the skin's scale.

What the M4A1-S | Hyper Beast looks like in Minimal Wear

The top of the rifle is flooded with blue-teal, with pink, green and purple strokes running along the handguard and the receiver. The magazine well and grip are covered in red-orange smears with green inserts. The suppressor is dark blue-gray and almost without artwork.

In Minimal Wear the wear is light. The ribs of the handguard and the top of the receiver are the first places to show marks.

Where the M4A1-S | Hyper Beast came from

The finish was designed by frontaLOBE, and the Steam Workshop submission was filed on March 8, 2015. Its description says the artwork was made specifically for this model, differs from two other works in the series, and took a great deal of work. The author also points to the Behance page of an illustrator named Brock.

The Chroma 2 Collection was released on April 15, 2015, and the skin has been in it since the first day. Its number in Valve's catalog of finishes is 430. In the in-game description a made-up customer asks for the artwork to be sensitive to ultraviolet light, and that line is part of the item's lore.

What to check before buying

A given M4A1-S | Hyper Beast comes down to three points:

  • float: the wear band is narrow, 0.07 to 0.15, and Factory New costs 1.93 times as much;

  • stickers and a name tag already sitting on this M4A1-S | Hyper Beast;

  • the light edges of the handguard and the receiver in the listing photo.

The pattern is the same on all copies of the M4A1-S | Hyper Beast. Between 0.07 and 0.15 there is hardly a better copy to search for.

What the M4A1-S | Hyper Beast costs in Minimal Wear

Below this wear the price falls gradually: Field-Tested is cheaper by 1.05 times, Well-Worn by 1.12 times and Battle-Scarred by 1.16 times. Only Factory New stands above, at nearly twice the price.

Among Covert M4A1-S skins in this wear, Hyper Beast splits a row of eleven in half: five finishes cost less and five cost more. The nearest above is Cyrex, and below it are Chantico's Fire and Mecha Industries. The cheapest are Player Two, Vaporwave and Golden Coil, and the most expensive are Printstream, Imminent Danger and Welcome to the Jungle.

Getting the M4A1-S | Hyper Beast

The M4A1-S | Hyper Beast drops from the Chroma 2 Case, and wear is set at the drop. A trade-up contract for it takes ten skins one rank lower from one collection, and the result is one of the collection's two Covert finishes.

A Covert skin also works toward a knife craft: five Covert skins from one collection give one rare special item. This set can produce the Bayonet, Flip Knife, Gut Knife, Karambit and M9 Bayonet.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The M4A1-S | Hyper Beast has a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were made for this finish, but a Souvenir copy can be built through the Souvenir-O-Matic.

Stickers and craft on the M4A1-S | Hyper Beast

The artwork covers almost the whole body, so there is little free room on the rifle. The suppressor is dark and nearly bare, and stickers read better there than on the handguard. On the bright blue part, white and yellow stickers stand out.

Who this wear suits

Buying the M4A1-S | Hyper Beast in this wear makes sense if:

  • you want a bright M4A1-S for CS2 with almost no wear, and no double markup for Factory New;

  • a slight price difference matters: Field-Tested is cheaper by only 5%;

  • your CS2 loadout is built on acid colors and the artwork should stay clean.
