Of the five wears of the M4A1-S | Liquidation, Factory New (FN) costs the most by a wide margin. The gap to the bottom is enormous: Battle-Scarred is almost ten times cheaper. The rank is Restricted, and the skin arrives from the Sealed Genesis Terminal.
What the M4A1-S | Liquidation looks like in Factory New
The body is blue, with an effect of offset outlines over it. Every part is traced with a red line on one side and a light-blue line on the other, like an image seen through stereo glasses. That makes the rifle look out of focus even though the artwork is sharp. The suppressor is plain dark gray and the grip is olive.
There are three colors: blue as the base, red and light blue as the outlines. Solid areas are almost absent, because the offset runs along every edge from the front sight to the buttplate.
In Factory New the outline lines are unbroken anywhere and the effect works at full strength. That is the whole difference from the lower wears: once scuffs appear on the edges, the offset outlines start to blend with the gray haze and the trick stops reading. Hence the tenfold gap in price.
Where the M4A1-S | Liquidation came from
The Steam Workshop submission went up on August 7, 2024 under a different name, "M4A1-S | Quick liquidation". The finish received its final name at release. In the Valve catalog the finish is listed as number 1340.
The Genesis Collection reached the game on September 16, 2025. Valve's post described it as seventeen finishes from community authors, with access to the items through the Genesis Terminal, handed out as a weekly drop. In other words, this collection has no ordinary case and key.
What to check before buying
- float: inside 0.00 to 0.07 the difference is small, but this is exactly where the outlines stay clean;
- a name tag or stickers already sitting on the listing;
- the item version: the regular, StatTrak and Souvenir versions are sold as separate listings.
The pattern on the M4A1-S | Liquidation does not change from copy to copy, so there is nothing to pay extra for.
What the M4A1-S | Liquidation costs in Factory New
The ladder down is steep. Minimal Wear is two and a half times cheaper, Field-Tested (FT) five times, Well-Worn eight and a half times, and Battle-Scarred almost ten. The cause is the trick itself: it only holds on a clean body.
Among Restricted skins in this wear, the M4A1-S | Liquidation is fifth from the bottom of nine, right in the middle. Nitro is a tenth dearer, Glitched Paint and Electrum come in almost half as much, and Night Terror less than a sixth.
Getting the M4A1-S | Liquidation
Take a Sealed Genesis Terminal from the weekly drop, or run a trade-up contract of ten Mil-Spec skins from the same collection. The set has five Restricted skins, so the chance of landing this exact rifle is one in five.
StatTrak and Souvenir
Stickers and craft on the M4A1-S | Liquidation
The M4A1-S | Liquidation has a StatTrak version. Souvenir copies of the finish turn up as well, though no Souvenir packages were ever made for it: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. Those copies are built with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory.
A blue base with offset outlines makes a restless background, and stickers get lost among the lines. White and yellow ones read better than the rest, while blue and red blend into the effect. For a craft in CS2 the suppressor and stock are free.
Who this wear suits
Factory New is a sensible buy for the M4A1-S | Liquidation if:
- you specifically want a clean body, since on a worn one the offset effect vanishes;
- you are planning a craft on a tidy base;
- the rifle is for a collection in CS2, not for everyday matches.
The premium over Field-Tested here is fivefold. For play that is a lot, and if you only care about what is on screen in a match, FT is the wiser pick.
