Description

The M4A1-S | Liquidation in Field-Tested (FT) is the third rung of five counting up from the cleanest, and a sensible way into the Genesis set. The float of this wear lies between 0.15 and 0.38. Its rank is Restricted and the source is the Sealed Genesis Terminal. No other M4A1-S in the collection shares that rank.

What the M4A1-S | Liquidation looks like in Field-Tested

The base is dark blue, and every edge of it carries a double outline: a red line on one side of the edge, a light-blue one on the other. It works like a stereo picture, with the image seeming to split in two even though nothing is painted in stripes over the body. The suppressor and grip are left dark gray and take no part in the effect. The weak point of FT is precisely the outline, because it lives on the edges and nowhere else. In this wear the line is already eaten away on the rim of the handguard, at the magazine opening and along the arc of the carry handle. The dark flat panels stay clean.

What to check before buying

Before buying an M4A1-S | Liquidation, look at the following:

  • float: the closer to 0.38, the noticeably more gray there is on the edges;

  • stickers and a name tag applied to the listing;

  • the item type: a Souvenir copy is listed on its own line and costs noticeably more.

The artwork is fixed, so there are no rare copies by pattern.

The band from 0.15 to 0.38 is wide, and copies from its two ends hardly look alike.

What the M4A1-S | Liquidation costs in Field-Tested

The neighboring wears, measured against FT:

  • Factory New is dearer by roughly a factor of five;

  • Minimal Wear costs about twice as much;

  • Well-Worn is about a third cheaper;

  • Battle-Scarred costs about half as much.

Going down saves a real amount, but the gray on the body grows noticeably too. FT remains the point where the glow is still even and there is no premium for a perfect float.

Getting the M4A1-S | Liquidation

The M4A1-S | Liquidation drops from the Sealed Genesis Terminal, and no other case has it. The same artwork appears on an MP5-SD from the 2023 Revolution Case, one rank lower and noticeably cheaper.

That leaves the trade-up contract. You hand over ten Mil-Spec skins from the set, for example SCAR-20 | Caged, MP5-SD | Focus or AUG | Trigger Discipline, and receive one Restricted skin. Five skins share the Restricted rank in the set and there is no telling which one will arrive: the chance of getting this rifle is one in five.

The Liquidation is hardly ever sent back into a contract. Of the five Restricted skins in the set it is the most expensive, since there is no other M4A1-S in the rank. Contracts take Dual Berettas | Angel Eyes and UMP-45 | Continuum instead, which cost a third as much.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the M4A1-S | Liquidation

The M4A1-S | Liquidation has a StatTrak version. Souvenir copies of the finish turn up as well, though no Souvenir packages were ever made for it: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. Those copies are built with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory.

A dark base with a glow is a handy backdrop, though you will need to choose colors carefully. Red and blue stickers continue the stripes of the body, whereas white and gold ones give a sharp contrast and pull the eye. On a worn FT copy expensive stickers are rarely applied: the gray edges spoil the neatness of the build.

Who this wear suits

Field-Tested is worth buying for the M4A1-S | Liquidation if:

  • you want a rifle with a glow for CS2 and have no need for a perfect float;

  • the skin is for using, not for showing off;

  • you are assembling a counter-terrorist set in red and blue.

The gray haze on the edges is obvious on a close look. In a match the rifle looks exactly like a clean copy.
