Battle-Scarred (BS) on the M4A1-S | Master Piece is graffiti on a turquoise-blue field, worn down further than in any other wear. This wear covers the band from 0.45 to 1.00. Its rank is Classified, and the carbine is part of The Overpass Collection. In CS2 the skin comes in all five wears.
What the M4A1-S | Master Piece looks like in Battle-Scarred
The handguard and receiver are filled with turquoise blue streaked with dark strokes. A large wildstyle inscription lies across the top of the receiver: interlaced letters in orange, red and yellow. The suppressor, stock and magazine are gray and unpainted.
Valve describes the artwork briefly: a custom graffiti in wildstyle. A bright tag in the middle of the blue field holds the whole composition together. Battle-Scarred has the deepest wear, but it is fixed at the drop, so the listing shows the condition the buyer will receive.
What to check before buying
Three things to settle before paying for an M4A1-S | Master Piece:
- the float: the band from 0.45 to 1.00 covers 55% of the skin's scale;
- the state of the tag on top of the receiver, the main element of the artwork;
- what the previous owner left on the M4A1-S | Master Piece: stickers and a name tag.
One copy differs from another in wear alone; the artwork is common to all. In this wear the band is the whole stretch from 0.45 to 1.00, and listings from its two ends look different from each other.
What the M4A1-S | Master Piece costs in Battle-Scarred
Relative to Battle-Scarred, the other wears cost:
- Factory New: 3.57 times as much;
- Minimal Wear: 1.92 times as much;
- Field-Tested: 1.22 times as much;
- Well-Worn: 1.04 times as much.
Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred are almost level on price, and nearly all of the premium sits in the top two wears. No other Classified M4A1-S priced in this wear costs as much. The nearest group, M4A1-S | Guardian and M4A1-S | Atomic Alloy, is roughly three and a half times cheaper. M4A1-S | Decimator and M4A1-S | Leaded Glass are cheaper by almost an order of magnitude.
Getting the M4A1-S | Master Piece
It never dropped from a regular case. The skin came out in tournament Souvenir packages for the Overpass map, starting with the ESL One Cologne 2014 Overpass Souvenir Package.
The other source is a contract of ten skins from the rank below in the same collection. The input skins are AWP | Pink DDPAT or USP-S | Road Rash. The collection has a single skin on the rank above, so the contract always returns the same result.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The M4A1-S | Master Piece has no StatTrak version, but Souvenir copies exist. They came out in tournament packages, and they can also be built through the Souvenir-O-Matic, which adds gold tournament stickers and a player autograph to an ordinary skin.
Stickers and craft on the M4A1-S | Master Piece
The gray suppressor, stock and magazine give a neutral background where stickers do not compete with the graffiti. Pale and yellow stickers read well on the turquoise-blue field. The orange tag is better left uncovered, since it is the center of the artwork.
Who this wear suits
Battle-Scarred suits an M4A1-S | Master Piece buyer in these cases:
- you want an M4A1-S with the graffiti at the lowest price of the five wears;
- scuffing does not bother you, and you see no reason to pay 1.04 to 1.22 times more for the neighboring wears;
- the skin is for CS2, where wear has no effect on shooting.
