The M4A1-S | Nitro in Battle-Scarred (BS) is the widest wear of this rifle on the scale. Its float band runs from 0.45 to 0.80: the skin's float stops at 0.80, and BS takes 47% of the range. Rank: Restricted, in The Safehouse Collection.
What the M4A1-S | Nitro looks like in Battle-Scarred
The base stays olive gray, with suppressor, handguard, receiver, magazine, grip and stock all in the standard factory finish. Orange goes on the barrel between handguard and suppressor, the gas block, the bolt, the magazine catch and the trigger. There is no artwork or lettering.
The range of 0.45 to 0.80 is large, and copies inside it look different. Near the lower edge more orange survives, while near the upper edge the small parts lose it altogether and the gray body does not change. Wear is set at drop. Battle-Scarred usually runs up to 1.00, but for this skin the scale ends at 0.80.
Where the M4A1-S | Nitro came from
Valve released the skin itself, and no Steam Workshop submission existed for it. The Safehouse Collection came out in November 2013, and the skin has been part of the set since the start. In Valve's catalog it is number 254.
What to check before buying
Before paying for the M4A1-S | Nitro, it is useful to check:
- the float: the closer to 0.45, the more orange survives;
- the orange section on the barrel between handguard and suppressor;
- the name tag and stickers the previous owner left on the listing.
It is one and the same artwork on every copy, and no rare copies exist. Search by the number rather than the wear label, because a band of 0.45 to 0.80 is wide.
What the M4A1-S | Nitro costs in Battle-Scarred
The other wears line up against Battle-Scarred like this:
- Factory New costs about twenty-two times as much;
- Minimal Wear costs about twice as much;
- Field-Tested is about 1.2 times cheaper;
- Well-Worn is about 1.1 times cheaper.
Among the eight Restricted M4A1-S finishes in Battle-Scarred, the skin is second from the bottom: only M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S is cheaper. Above are M4A1-S | Night Terror, M4A1-S | Electrum, M4A1-S | Liquidation and M4A1-S | Glitched Paint, and M4A1-S | Basilisk tops the row.
Getting the M4A1-S | Nitro
The route that skips buying is a trade-up: ten skins one rank below, and the M4A1-S | Nitro comes out if they are from this collection. The skin has no case, and its souvenir copies were issued in the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package and the EMS One 2014 souvenir packages.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The M4A1-S | Nitro has no StatTrak version, but it does have a souvenir release.
Stickers and craft on the M4A1-S | Nitro
A gray body with modest orange hardly gets in the way of stickers. In Battle-Scarred there are fewer orange details, and a sticker takes the foreground. Warm colors echo best what is left of the paint.
Who this wear suits
Battle-Scarred is worth choosing on the M4A1-S | Nitro for these reasons:
- you want an M4A1-S for CS2 at the minimum price in this rank;
- the 0.45 to 0.80 band offers a choice, and you can look for a copy with more orange left;
- you need a gray base for a sticker craft in CS2.
If you want intact orange parts, look at Factory New and Minimal Wear.
