Factory New (FN) is the narrowest wear of the M4A1-S | Nitro. Its float band runs from 0.06 to 0.07: the lower edge is cut off by the finish's own minimum, so the clean wear gets one hundredth of the whole scale. It is Restricted rank. The skin belongs to the Safehouse Collection, one of the first in CS:GO.
What the M4A1-S | Nitro looks like in Factory New
Most of the rifle is left as it came from the factory, olive gray from suppressor to stock, with the handguard, receiver, magazine and grip untouched. Bright orange goes only on individual parts: the stretch of barrel between handguard and suppressor, the gas block, the charging area and bolt handles, the magazine catch, the trigger. More orange lies as a single stroke on the side of the receiver and as a blot on the carry handle. There are no inscriptions, numbers or logos on the body.
So the finish is an accent job, not a colored one: the paint is gathered around the gas block and the controls on the right side. There is one large solid patch, the orange stretch of barrel. In Factory New every small orange part is intact, and that is the whole point of the wear. The orange sits exactly where hands and edges rub, so in the lower wears it goes first. The gray base looks no different, and wear reads only through the orange that has vanished.
Where the M4A1-S | Nitro came from
Valve drew this finish itself; there is no Steam Workshop submission behind it. The Safehouse Collection was released on November 27, 2013. In Valve's finish catalog the artwork carries number 254, which is worth setting against the M4A1-S | Stratosphere of 2025, numbered 1216. The finish is plain: solid color, no drawing and no transitions.
In the item description Valve left a line from Officer Felix Riley about Rona: she is exactly as good as she thinks she is. It is a character's quote, not a note on the finish. In a post dated January 21, 2026, Valve listed Safehouse among the collections removed from the weekly care package pool.
What to check before buying
A listing for the M4A1-S | Nitro is chosen by these points:
- the float must fall inside 0.06 to 0.07, otherwise it is another wear;
- whether the orange is intact on the bolt handle, the charging area and the magazine catch, the parts that wear off first;
- what the previous owner left on the M4A1-S | Nitro: stickers and a name tag.
Every copy of the M4A1-S | Nitro carries the same pattern. In this wear the band is a tight 0.06–0.07, and the difference between listings is hard to catch.
What the M4A1-S | Nitro costs in Factory New
The other wears cost many times less. Minimal Wear is cheaper by about ten times, while Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred are twenty-odd times cheaper and barely differ from one another.
The gap comes not from looks but from the width of the segment: one hundredth of the scale against a band that for this finish stretches to 0.80.
Among Restricted M4A1-S finishes, the Nitro in clean condition is sixth of nine by price, counting upward. The M4A1-S | Liquidation asks slightly less, the M4A1-S | Glitched Paint and the M4A1-S | Electrum about half, and the M4A1-S | Night Terror is seven times cheaper. Above it come the M4A1-S | Basilisk and the M4A1-S | Icarus Fell.
Getting the M4A1-S | Nitro
Regular copies were handed out as drops from the Safehouse Collection, and Souvenir ones came in the DreamHack 2013 and EMS One 2014 packages.
A trade-up into the M4A1-S | Nitro takes ten skins of the next rank down from this collection. Examples are the FAMAS | Teardown, the Five-SeveN | Silver Quartz or the SSG 08 | Acid Fade. The collection has one Restricted finish, so the outcome is settled in advance. But the contract does not lead to the clean wear. The result's float is computed from the skins you put in, and hitting that hundredth of the scale by chance is nearly impossible.
StatTrak and Souvenir
There is no StatTrak™ version of the M4A1-S | Nitro, but a Souvenir release exists.
Stickers and craft on the M4A1-S | Nitro
The rifle is gray and calm, so a sticker on the body becomes the second bright spot after the orange parts. Almost any color reads, though reds and crimsons argue with the tangerine. There is plenty of room: the handguard, the receiver side and the stock are free.
Who this wear suits
The M4A1-S | Nitro in Factory New is a reasonable buy when at least one of these fits:
- you need a copy from the cut-off 0.06–0.07 band, for a wear-based collection, say;
- intact orange parts matter, the ones the lower wears have already lost;
- a craft is planned on an even gray base.
For matches in CS2 the premium is barely justified: in Minimal Wear the gray body looks the same and the orange parts are still in place.
