Description

The M4A1-S | Solitude in Well-Worn (WW) asks for more than the cleaner Field-Tested. Copies in this wear fall between 0.38 and 0.45, about a tenth of the skin's whole scale, which ends at 0.70. The rank is Classified. The finish never dropped from a case: it came through the Armory.

What the M4A1-S | Solitude looks like in Well-Worn

At this wear the blue base turns cloudy and the thin dark blue hatching starts to break. The lines are interrupted on the ribs of the handguard, along the edge of the carry handle and on the spine of the magazine. The waves no longer read in full. The cream-white fields near the stock darken and lose their fine turquoise and brown strokes. The gold ejection port cover stands proud of the receiver, so the gold on it goes before anywhere else.

The wide blue fields on the flat sides hold out longest, and in Well-Worn they are what gives the rifle its recognizable look. The mountain motif still has no connection to the name: nothing in the art speaks of being alone.

Where the M4A1-S | Solitude came from

The finish has no artist behind it. Valve made the artwork, and nobody filed a Steam Workshop submission for it. Under the skin's description there is a line, "Being alone is a privilege, not a burden", and that is where the name comes from. It was released on August 14, 2025, and its number in Valve's catalog is 1338.

The treatment is hydrographic film, and in the update post Valve mentioned the rifle in a single line, as a limited-time item in the Armory. The same mountain art is worn by the XM1014 | Solitude, but that one has its own catalog number, 1215, and a lower rank.

What to check before buying

The 0.38 to 0.45 band is short, so with the M4A1-S | Solitude you look past the number to this:

  • what is left of the gold on the ejection port cover, which is the first thing to go;

  • how the film settled: in a battered wear the differences in the hatching show more;

  • stickers and a name tag, which change hands with the listing.

Float within the band hardly matters: the upper and lower edges look alike.

What the M4A1-S | Solitude costs in Well-Worn

Going up, the ratios are the usual ones: Factory New costs about six times as much, and Minimal Wear twice as much. Going down they flip: Field-Tested is about a sixth cheaper, and Battle-Scarred one and a half times cheaper.

Among Classified M4A1-S skins, the M4A1-S | Solitude is the cheapest in this wear. The M4A1-S | Stratosphere and the M4A1-S | Black Lotus cost almost three times as much, the M4A1-S | Party Animal five times. The top of the rank is closer here than in the clean wears: the M4A1-S | Guardian and the M4A1-S | Atomic Alloy cost about fourteen times as much.

Getting the M4A1-S | Solitude

No case holds this finish, and a trade-up contract does not apply to the M4A1-S | Solitude: contracts work inside a collection, and a limited-time item sits outside every collection. That leaves one route: buy a finished listing in the wear you want.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the M4A1-S | Solitude

No StatTrak version of the M4A1-S | Solitude was ever released. Souvenir copies do turn up, but no Souvenir packages were made for this finish: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. Those copies are built with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory.

A scuffed base is wrong for an expensive craft: a sticker will land on a stretch of broken hatching and the result will not look tidy. Cheap stickers, by contrast, cover the rubbed edges and look right at home in CS2. Black and dark red give contrast, while white merges with the cream fields near the stock.

Who this wear suits

Buying the M4A1-S | Solitude here, in Well-Worn, makes sense when:

  • you need a copy with a float from the 0.38 to 0.45 stretch, for matching wears in a set, say;

  • a listing with stickers turns up that is a good deal as a whole.

In other cases Field-Tested is the saner choice: it is both cheaper and better preserved. For CS2 that is the working option, and the extra paid for Well-Worn adds nothing for the buyer.
