M4A1-S | Wash me plz (Field-Tested)

Field-Tested (FT) is the cheap way into the M4A1-S | Wash me plz, a rifle whose artwork is dirt to begin with. The grade covers 0.15 to 0.38. The rank is Industrial Grade; the finish belongs to The Overpass 2024 Collection, and Souvenir copies come out of the Budapest 2025 Overpass Souvenir Package.

What the M4A1-S | Wash me plz looks like in Field-Tested

A sand-beige dust layer with dark brown runs covers the whole body: suppressor, handguard, receiver, magazine, grip and stock. A dark blue-gray base with pale lilac curls shows through the grime on the barrel and on the lower grip. The suppressor is beige with brown streaks, and bare dark metal is open on the gas block.

The centerpiece is the brown finger-drawing on the right side of the receiver, above the magazine well and behind it. A smiley is plain to read: two dots for eyes and an arc for a mouth. To its left run brown strokes that look like letters without forming a word.

Here the dirt rubs back to the blue base on raised ribs: handguard checkering, carry handle, the spine of the magazine, the corners of the stock. The finger marks sit on a flat side and go last. The effect doubles up, as real wear lands on top of painted wear.

Where the M4A1-S | Wash me plz came from

Valve is the author; nobody submitted this art to the Steam Workshop. The Overpass 2024 Collection was released on October 2, 2024, in the same update that opened the Armory. Valve's note listed three new weapon collections, weapon charms and a seven-day transfer hold on purchased items. The finish is number 160 in Valve's catalog.

The finish is hydrographic: the film settles unevenly, so the pattern on two copies never matches stroke for stroke. Under the description Valve put the line "Nothing a little elbow grease can't fix".

What to check before buying

Differences between copies come down to this:

• the pattern, since the film lies its own way and the dirt patches with their strokes vary along the side;


• the float, as the blue base surfaces on the handguard checkering and the edges nearer 0.38;


• what the previous owner left behind — stickers and an applied name.

Shop by the number rather than the grade label: 0.15 to 0.38 is a wide band.

What the M4A1-S | Wash me plz costs in Field-Tested

All five grades fit inside a couple of dozen cents. Only Factory New starts noticeably higher, by about half again; the other four run close together, and picking between them on price is pointless.

The bottom grade has a quirk of its own. The finish scale ends at 0.58, so Battle-Scarred takes up less than a quarter of the range instead of half.

Among Industrial Grade M4A1-S finishes the rifle is second of four by price. Only M4A1-S | Boreal Forest is cheaper, M4A1-S | Mud-Spec asks a little more, and M4A1-S | Moss Quartz drops out of the row entirely at several times the rest.

Getting the M4A1-S | Wash me plz

Ordinary copies drop from The Overpass 2024 Collection. Souvenir ones come from the Budapest 2025 Overpass Souvenir Package, handed to viewers of the StarLadder Major in Budapest, whose tournament hub Valve opened on November 12, 2025.

A contract will not assemble it: this is the bottom rank of the set, with nothing below to feed in. As an input it works well, since ten of them return one Mil-Spec skin. The possible outcomes are Glock-18 | Teal Graf, MAC-10 | Pipsqueak, Galil AR | Metallic Squeezer and Nova | Wurst Hölle.

StatTrak and Souvenir

A StatTrak edition of the M4A1-S | Wash me plz was never issued, while a Souvenir one exists.

Stickers and craft on the M4A1-S | Wash me plz

The background is busy and filthy, so small stickers are lost. Large, contrasting ones work: black, white, bright blue. Gold and sand sink into the dust layer. Covering the side with the finger-drawing would be a shame, but the handguard, magazine and stock are free.

Who this wear suits

Field-Tested fits when at least one of these is true:

• a cheap rifle with a joke on the body is what CS2 calls for;


• the skin is a sticker base, and the state of that base is secondary;


• picking a pattern appeals, since the film gives every listing its own.

The price gap to Minimal Wear is near zero, so those two grades are always worth comparing. The art is an acquired taste, but it costs next to nothing to try.
