The M4A4 | Aeolian Dark in Factory New (FN) is the cleanest state of a very light base, one where any dark scuff stands out. The float band is 0.00 to 0.07. It is an Industrial Grade skin, and the finish arrived with the Achroma Collection.
What the M4A4 | Aeolian Dark looks like in Factory New
Despite the word "dark" in the name, the M4 is light here. The base is silver-white across the whole body, and only the strokes over it stay dark: dark gray and black lines gathered in lengthwise bundles. The hatching runs over the handguard, the sides of the receiver, the stock and the barrel, thickening on the receiver and stock. The magazine and pistol grip are left smooth and light, with no pattern.
Valve describes the artwork as an abstract knot in a gray palette, and on the body it is exactly that: bundles of straight and curved lines. There are no figures, inscriptions or numbers in the artwork. The same collection has the P90 | Aeolian Light, and the two names are set against each other even though both finishes are light gray.
What Factory New gives here is a light field that stays even, and that field is the main surface. Where a copy carries wear, it takes the white coating on the handguard edges, the receiver corners and the butt. On such a base, dark metal in the gaps is visible at once. The strokes themselves barely suffer from wear; it is the white field around them that does.
Where the M4A4 | Aeolian Dark came from
The author of the finish is Valve itself, with no Steam Workshop submission behind it. The Achroma Collection dates from January 21, 2026. In Valve's catalog the skin is number 1364. It is in no case.
What to check before buying
When choosing an M4A4 | Aeolian Dark, look at the following:
- the float: a light base gives wear away sooner than a dark one, and it starts at the edges;
- the front edge of the handguard and the butt, where the white goes first;
- what the previous owner left on the M4A4 | Aeolian Dark, meaning stickers and a name tag.
The artwork on the M4A4 | Aeolian Dark is the same on every copy, so there is no particular one to hunt for. The 0.00 to 0.07 band is tight, and the listings at either end differ only by the number in the description.
What the M4A4 | Aeolian Dark costs in Factory New
This finish has almost no spread across wears. Minimal Wear costs the same, Field-Tested and Well-Worn come out slightly higher, and Battle-Scarred is about a fifth cheaper. That happens in cheap ranks: the gap between wears is smaller than the spread between individual listings.
Among Industrial Grade finishes for the M4A4, the Aeolian Dark sits almost at the very bottom: only the Steel Work is cheaper, and one more finish is a little pricier. Beyond them come the rank's older finishes, which cost tens to hundreds of times more.
Getting the M4A4 | Aeolian Dark
The skin arrives as a drop from the Achroma Collection. To trade up for the M4A4 | Aeolian Dark, you need ten skins of the rank below from this set. The output is one of the collection's five Industrial Grade finishes.
StatTrak and Souvenir
There is no StatTrak version of the M4A4 | Aeolian Dark. Souvenir copies occur, but the finish never had packages of its own, since packages existed only for the tournament map collections. Those copies come from the Souvenir-O-Matic, which fits gold tournament stickers and a player's autograph to an ordinary skin from your inventory.
Stickers and craft on the M4A4 | Aeolian Dark
A light gray field is one of the most convenient for craft in CS2: any bright sticker reads on it, and only white and light gray ones get lost. The hatching is fine and does not interfere with a sticker's artwork. The magazine and the grip, where the surface is smooth, are free, and so is the stock.
Who this wear suits
A Factory New M4A4 | Aeolian Dark is worth buying if:
- you need a light M4 for CS2 for minimal money;
- you need a clean background for craft, without scuffs on the edges;
- you value an even silver base over the graphics laid on top of it.
The price difference between wears is almost nil, so there is no reason to buy the lower ones to save money. Choosing between them is choosing a look.
