The M4A4 | Buzz Kill in Field-Tested (FT) is an orange-yellow rifle with edges already rubbed down but its lettering on the flats still intact. The float bounds here are 0.15 and 0.38. It is Covert rank, drops from the Glove Case and belongs to the Glove Collection. Among Covert finishes for this rifle, the Buzz Kill is second by price.
What the M4A4 | Buzz Kill looks like in Field-Tested
The receiver, stock and part of the handguard are flooded with a saturated orange with yellow edges. The middle of the handguard and the gas block are black, and that black cuts the palette in half. The magazine and pistol grip are olive green, and a yellow ring sits at the muzzle. The sights are gray, and the paint does not reach them. Small technical lettering runs along the side of the receiver and on the stock, and a thin pale ornament lies on the magazine.
In Field-Tested the orange fades along the receiver edges and on the heel of the stock. The yellow ring at the muzzle wears away before anything else, and it is how you recognize the wear. The lettering on the flat areas stays legible, and the olive magazine barely changes. On the M4A4 | Buzz Kill the wear is stretched from 0.15 to 0.38, and you can see that on inspection.
Where the M4A4 | Buzz Kill came from
The finish's author is DasDas, and the work reached the game from the Steam Workshop. The Glove Collection was released on November 28, 2016. In Valve's skin catalog the item is number 632.
What to check before buying
Before taking an M4A4 | Buzz Kill, look at these points:
- the float: at 0.15 the receiver edge is still even, and nearer 0.38 the orange on it is worn out;
- the yellow ring at the muzzle, which gives out first and gives the wear away at once;
- stickers and a name tag: on the M4A4 | Buzz Kill they transfer with the listing.
The M4A4 | Buzz Kill has a fixed pattern, and price does not depend on the pattern index.
What the M4A4 | Buzz Kill costs in Field-Tested
Across the wears the picture is this:
- Factory New costs about twice as much;
- Minimal Wear costs about a fifth more;
- Well-Worn is about a twentieth cheaper;
- Battle-Scarred is about a tenth cheaper.
The three scuffed wears sit almost level: the gap between them is smaller than the step from FT to Minimal Wear. Only Factory New stands apart.
Among Covert M4A4 finishes in this wear, the Buzz Kill is second of fourteen by price. Only the M4A4 | The Coalition costs more, by about one and a half times. The nearest below, the M4A4 | Eye of Horus and the M4A4 | Asiimov, trail by about an eighth. The cheap end of the rank, the M4A4 | The Battlestar and the M4A4 | Neo-Noir, is about eight times lower.
Getting the M4A4 | Buzz Kill
The first route is the Glove Case, and no other case holds this finish. To get the M4A4 | Buzz Kill, you put in ten skins of the next rank down from the same collection.
The Buzz Kill itself, as a Covert skin, works as an input too. Five Covert rifles of one collection go into a craft for a rare special item, and the Glove Collection yields gloves.
StatTrak and Souvenir
Stickers and craft on the M4A4 | Buzz Kill
The M4A4 | Buzz Kill has a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were ever made for this finish, because packages only ever covered tournament map collections. A souvenir copy can still be built by hand. The Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory. That is why the odd souvenir copy turns up where no package was ever made.
There is little even surface on the body: the side of the receiver is taken by lettering, and the handguard is broken up by a black insert. The plane above the magazine well and the top of the receiver stay free. The orange-yellow base mutes warm stickers and lifts cool ones, so blue and white read best on it. On rubbed edges part of a sticker goes with the paint, so an expensive craft belongs nearer the bottom of the band.
Who this wear suits
The M4A4 | Buzz Kill in Field-Tested is worth buying in these cases:
- you want a bright rifle for CS2 without paying extra for untouched edges;
- you are putting together a loadout in orange and olive;
- choosing by number matters: within 0.15 to 0.38 the listings differ noticeably.
For a CS2 showcase the wear is debatable. Toward the top of the band the yellow ring at the muzzle is already broken, and the orange on the corners fades to dull.
