For the M4A4 | Cyber Security, Field-Tested (FT) strikes a balance: the collage of signs on the receiver and the magazine is intact, while the dark edges have already grayed. Float on the M4A4 | Cyber Security runs here from 0.15 to 0.38. The skin is Classified rank; this M4A4 arrived with The Operation Broken Fang Collection.
What the M4A4 | Cyber Security looks like in Field-Tested
The painted zone is turquoise, with yellow, red and white laid over it. The color takes the rear half of the handguard, the side of the receiver and the magazine. The barrel, the front of the handguard, the rail and the stock frame stay almost black. The patches are assembled as ragged panels, like signs pasted over one another. Hieroglyph-like characters in red and white run across the receiver and the magazine. Some stand in vertical columns and read in pieces, and beside them are small numbers and scraps of frames. The grip, the butt pad and the cheek rest of the stock are red, and on the barrel behind the muzzle device sits a thin red ring.
In Field-Tested the edges of the receiver, the rim of the handguard and the corners of the magazine gray first. On the motley panels the scuffs are less noticeable than on the red grip and butt pad, and the wear is read by those. Buying the M4A4 | Cyber Security in this wear means choosing from the 0.15 to 0.38 band, and the look at the two ends of it differs.
What to check before buying
In a listing for the M4A4 | Cyber Security, check these parameters:
- float: near the bottom of the band the red grip is even, near the top pale patches show through on it;
- the butt pad and the cheek rest, where red gives out sooner than turquoise;
- stickers and an applied name tag: on the M4A4 | Cyber Security they go along with the listing.
A lucky pattern cannot be pulled from the M4A4 | Cyber Security: there is always just one. The collage is applied whole, and two copies with the same float are told apart only by other people's stickers.
What the M4A4 | Cyber Security costs in Field-Tested
This finish has, in effect, a single step, and it is at the top:
- Factory New costs about seven times more;
- Minimal Wear costs about two thirds more;
- Well-Worn is level with FT;
- Battle-Scarred is level too, with a difference under three percent.
Below Field-Tested the price no longer drops: the three worn wears cost about the same. The premium on this finish starts only at Minimal Wear, and the real jump is at the factory wear.
Among Classified M4A4 skins this one is fourth by price out of eight. Above it come M4A4 | Falak, M4A4 | Hellfire and M4A4 | Poseidon; below it, M4A4 | Desolate Space and M4A4 | Tooth Fairy.
Getting the M4A4 | Cyber Security
The skin drops from the Operation Broken Fang Case, and no other case holds this finish. The M4A4 | Cyber Security was added to the game on December 3, 2020, along with the whole Operation Broken Fang collection. In the launch note Valve listed what players received: the Retakes mode, a separate Premier for the operation, new maps in all modes and weekly missions.
A trade-up for the M4A4 | Cyber Security takes ten skins of the rank below from the same collection. The collection has three Classified finishes, so the chance of pulling the one you want is one in three.
StatTrak and Souvenir
Stickers and craft on the M4A4 | Cyber Security
A StatTrak version of the M4A4 | Cyber Security exists. No Souvenir packages were released for this finish: they were made only for the tournament map collections. But you can build a Souvenir copy yourself — the Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from your inventory. That is why the odd Souvenir copy turns up now and then even where no packages ever existed.
The dark half of the rifle suits a craft well: the rail above the receiver, the front of the handguard and the stock frame are almost empty. There is little point in putting a sticker over the collage, since the ragged panels swallow any artwork. Green and light blue stickers clash with the turquoise and yellow, while white and red logos pick up the colors of the signs. On the receiver edges in FT the paint has already come off, so a sticker there will sit on gray metal.
Who this wear suits
Field-Tested is worth buying for the M4A4 | Cyber Security if:
- you want a whole collage without paying extra for factory edges;
- there is no reason to go lower, since the worn wears cost the same;
- the M4A4 is headed into CS2 matches, where the receiver is seen large.
For a CS2 inventory the panels look cleaner closer to 0.15, while at 0.38 the gray edges show even in the preview.
