M4A4 | 龍王 (Dragon King) (Field-Tested)

This is the M4A4 | 龍王 (Dragon King) in Field-Tested (FT): the dragon's head is still readable in full, while the cream edges have already worn away. The float band for this wear is 0.15 to 0.38. It is Classified rank and drops from the Chroma Case. Valve writes the finish name in Chinese characters; in English it is listed as Dragon King.

What the M4A4 | 龍王 (Dragon King) looks like in Field-Tested

The base is cream-beige. Blue-violet shapes like rolling clouds run along the handguard, the magazine and the bottom of the receiver. On the side of the receiver sits the head of a dragon, orange-red with gold and white details, complete with open jaws, whiskers and a mane. The stock is dark violet-gray with an orange-red buttplate, and the front sight is violet.

The characters in the name are not on the model itself: no lettering and no numbers show anywhere on the body. The barrel with its muzzle brake and part of the top rail are left as dark bare metal, and everything else is painted.

In Field-Tested the cream edges of the handguard and the borders of the receiver sides have worn away, which is exactly where the cloud pattern breaks off. The orange buttplate stands out more than any other detail and goes early too. The dragon's face sits on the flat side of the receiver and stays intact at this wear.

What to check before buying

On an M4A4 | 龍王 (Dragon King) listing, these are the points to look at:

• the float: toward the top of the band the cream edges are worn noticeably harder;

• the cloud pattern along the handguard edges and the orange buttplate on the stock;

• any name tag and stickers, which stay on the item when it changes hands.

The artwork is identical on every copy of the M4A4 | 龍王 (Dragon King): there is no pattern variance, and the dragon and clouds land the same way every time.

The 0.15 to 0.38 band still leaves room to choose: the closer to 0.15, the cleaner the copy.

What the M4A4 | 龍王 (Dragon King) costs in Field-Tested

Factory New costs almost four times as much, and Minimal Wear a little over one and a half times as much. Well-Worn costs about two fifths more than Field-Tested, while Battle-Scarred is only a few percent cheaper.

Eight Classified M4A4 skins have a price in this wear, and the M4A4 | 龍王 (Dragon King) is third by price among them. Desolate Space is level with it, and Tooth Fairy is more than three times cheaper. Cyber Security and Falak cost more, Hellfire close to ten times as much, and Poseidon eighty times.

Getting the M4A4 | 龍王 (Dragon King)

The first route is the Chroma Case: this finish has no other cases. The M4A4 | 龍王 (Dragon King) also comes from trade-ups, where ten skins one rank below, all from the same collection, go into a contract.

The collection came out on January 8, 2015. The finish number in the Valve catalog is 400, which shows the skin's age: finishes from recent years have four-digit numbers.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the M4A4 | 龍王 (Dragon King)

The M4A4 | 龍王 (Dragon King) has a StatTrak version. Souvenir copies of the finish turn up as well, though no Souvenir packages were ever made for it: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. Those copies are built with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory.

The cream base is light, and dark stickers read best on it. Red and orange stickers pick up the dragon's color, and blue ones echo the cloud pattern on the handguard. For a CS2 craft the magazine and the stock are free. The side of the receiver with the face is not a good spot for a sticker, because it covers the artwork entirely.

Who this wear suits

Buy the M4A4 | 龍王 (Dragon King) in Field-Tested if at least one of these fits:

• you want a bright M4 for CS2 and don't want to pay almost four times as much for Factory New;

• the dragon's head matters more than the cream edges that wear away at this wear;

• you pick listings by float: between 0.15 and 0.38 the difference shows.

Well-Worn costs more and Battle-Scarred is only slightly cheaper, so this wear stays the middle ground in both price and looks.
