What the M4A4 | Etch Lord looks like in Battle-Scarred
Battle-Scarred (BS) on the M4A4 | Etch Lord is the longest stretch of its scale: from 0.45 to 1.00, which is 55% of the full length. Restricted rank; it drops from the Kilowatt Case. In CS2 this rifle costs less in this wear than any other Restricted M4A4. The finish stays intact, though: the engraving on black metal reads here too.
Where the M4A4 | Etch Lord came from
The rifle is almost black, and from a distance it is easy to mistake for an ordinary factory one. The artwork lies only on the metal of the receiver: on top, on the side panels and around the magazine window. It is a dense weave of plant-like curls and loops in light gray, with no letters or figures in it. The handguard and grip remain gray-olive plastic, while the barrel, rail and stock carry black-gray metal with no artwork. The magazine is made of dark translucent polymer with an orange checkered mesh and blue patches near the bottom.
The wear range for the M4A4 | Etch Lord is 0.45 to 1.00. The engraving consists of the finest pale lines on raised metal. The receiver ribs, the edges of the magazine window and the area by the bolt catch button lighten first. On the flat side panels the weave holds longer, and the dark base covers up scuffs.
What to check before buying
HEWOK drew the finish. In the Steam Workshop he posted the submission "M4A4 | Snakebite V2" on November 6, 2023, and described his work in a single line: "PBR correct". The skin reached the game with the Kilowatt Case on February 6, 2024. Valve described the case as seventeen finishes by community authors and a kukri knife as a rare special item. In the Valve catalog the finish is listed under number 1165.
What the M4A4 | Etch Lord costs in Battle-Scarred
When buying, look at:
- float: the band runs 0.45 to 1.00, with both nearly clean bodies and clearly scuffed ones in it;
- the receiver ribs and the magazine window: they show how far the engraving has worn off;
- a name tag and stickers, if they are already on this M4A4 | Etch Lord.
Choosing by pattern does not exist for the M4A4 | Etch Lord as such: the artwork is the same on every copy.
Getting the M4A4 | Etch Lord
Factory New costs roughly ten times as much, Minimal Wear two and a half times, Field-Tested a tenth more. Well-Worn costs almost the same as Battle-Scarred. By price the M4A4 | Etch Lord sits at the very bottom of the Restricted M4A4 row. Higher in price come M4A4 | Sheet Lightning, then M4A4 | Griffin and M4A4 | Evil Daimyo, and M4A4 | Spider Lily is dearer still.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The skin falls from the Kilowatt Case. A trade-up also yields the M4A4 | Etch Lord. It needs ten Mil-Spec skins, the rank below, taken from anywhere; the outcome is drawn from the set of one of the inputs. If all ten are taken from the Kilowatt, the result is guaranteed to come from there: that is how a player steers the outcome.
Stickers and craft on the M4A4 | Etch Lord
This skin has a StatTrak version and no Souvenir packages.
Who this wear suits
A dark rifle with fine pale engraving carries bright stickers well: on black-gray metal they do not get lost. The gray-olive handguard and grip do not clash with the cool tones of stickers.
Battle-Scarred is worth buying for the M4A4 | Etch Lord if:
- you want the whole Kilowatt finish at the lowest price among Restricted M4s;
- the pattern on the receiver matters more than perfectly clean metal;
- you are looking for a base for stickers on which small scuffs do not catch the eye.
