The M4A4 | In Living Color in Field-Tested (FT) wears an acid collage across the whole body, and it hides scuffs better than any plain base. The float range of this wear is 0.15 to 0.38. It is a Covert M4A4 that drops from the Snakebite Case, and the finish belongs to The Snakebite Collection.
What the M4A4 | In Living Color looks like in Field-Tested
The design runs unbroken: the handguard, receiver, magazine and stock are covered in scenes of turquoise, pink, lime green, yellow and purple. The background is light, with almost no dark fields. The barrel and carry handle are left dark gray, and a light trim piece sits at the muzzle. Up close you can make out cartoon figures and scraps of lettering; the composition has no main element and is deliberately fragmented.
A single band holds both a 0.15 and a 0.38, and those two listings look different. The difference is held not by the design but by the edges: toward the upper bound, the receiver edges and the carry handle turn gray. The colorful planes of the handguard and stock stay colored across the whole band.
Where the M4A4 | In Living Color came from
The Snakebite Collection came out on May 4, 2021. The finish was drawn by kadzor, a Steam Workshop author whose M4A1-S | Player Two is also in the game. In Valve's finish catalog the design is number 1041.
In its note of May 4, 2021, Valve described the case briefly: seventeen finishes by community authors, with Broken Fang Gloves as the rare items.
What to check before buying
Before buying the M4A4 | In Living Color, check a few points:
- where the listing sits within 0.15 to 0.38: nearer the lower bound, the receiver edges keep their color;
- the carry handle and the edges of the cover, which turn gray sooner than the rest;
- stickers and a name tag already on this copy of the M4A4 | In Living Color.
The pattern index on the M4A4 | In Living Color changes nothing.
What the M4A4 | In Living Color costs in Field-Tested
Factory New costs about two and a half times as much, and Minimal Wear about a fifth more. Going down, the steps are small: Well-Worn is about a twentieth cheaper, and Battle-Scarred about a sixth. The three worn wears stay close together, and only the clean one is priced separately.
Fourteen Covert M4A4s have a price in this wear, and the finish sits fifth from the bottom. M4A4 | Full Throttle above and M4A4 | Temukau below stand close, within a tenth of either. At the top of the rank the numbers are different: M4A4 | Buzz Kill costs about seven times as much, and M4A4 | The Coalition about eleven times.
Getting the M4A4 | In Living Color
The finish has one case, the Snakebite Case; no other case carries this design.
You can build the M4A4 | In Living Color rather than buy it: a trade-up takes ten skins of the rank below from this collection. The collection has two Covert finishes, so the odds of getting the M4A4 are one in two. The Covert rank also feeds a gloves craft, and the collection's Extraordinary items are exactly that.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The M4A4 | In Living Color has a StatTrak version. Souvenir copies of the finish also exist, though no packages were released for it: those were made only for the tournament map collections. Such copies are built through the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a regular skin from your inventory.
Stickers and craft on the M4A4 | In Living Color
A busy base is the worst backdrop for stickers: the design overrides almost any sticker, and small graphics sink into it. Large single-color stickers work, best placed on the dark carry handle or the light trim piece at the muzzle. Thin tournament logos do not read here at all.
Who this wear suits
Field-Tested is worth choosing for the M4A4 | In Living Color for three reasons:
- you want a red counter-terrorist rifle for CS2, and Factory New costs two and a half times as much;
- wear on the collage barely reads, and paying extra for clean edges does not pay off;
- you want a version with a counter: a StatTrak edition exists for this finish.
There is one limit: up close in CS2, you can see that the receiver edges and carry handle are already gray.
