The M4A4 | Poseidon in Factory New is the dearest Classified finish on the model and the second dearest M4A4 overall. The float lies inside 0.00–0.07. The rank is Classified, the collection The Gods and Monsters Collection, and no case drops the skin. The finish has three grades, and Factory New (FN) is the top one.
What the M4A4 | Poseidon looks like in Factory New
The main element is a bright green trident-bearing figure. It stands on the receiver side by the magazine well in a yellow glow, pose and robe folds legible. The base is pale blue with turquoise and white swirls, Greek meanders and waves running along the handguard. The magazine is light blue, the stock turquoise, barrel and carry handle gray and unpainted.
The pale base is clean throughout here, with no gray patches on the receiver edges or handguard ribs. Those lose color first in the worn grades. The green figure lies on a flat panel and holds longest, so the grade is judged by the edges instead.
Where the M4A4 | Poseidon came from
Valve made the artwork, and no Steam Workshop submission exists for it. The collection was released on May 26, 2015, and the catalog number is 449.
It came into the game with Operation Bloodhound. In the announcement Valve explained the mechanic: a pass holder drew drops from the operation's six collections, this set among them beside the map sets.
What to check before buying
What to look at on a listing:
- the float, since 0.00–0.07 is narrow with little to choose inside it;
- the receiver and handguard edges, which show how much factory look remains;
- stickers on the body and any renaming.
The artwork is fixed and does not vary by copy. The spread is so small that picking by float serves no purpose.
What the M4A4 | Poseidon costs in Factory New
The float scale breaks off at 0.33, so nothing sits below Field-Tested. The spread between the three is small: Minimal Wear is about a quarter cheaper, Field-Tested about an eighth.
Between Minimal Wear and Field-Tested the order is reversed, the more scuffed grade costing more. The gap stays within a tenth of the price.
Among Classified M4A4 finishes here the rifle is first of eight by price. The nearest, M4A4 | Hellfire, trails by nearly four times and M4A4 | Falak by nine. Across the model only M4A4 | Howl, with its revoked rank, stands higher.
Getting the M4A4 | Poseidon
The finish has no case, since the collection went to pass holders for time played.
Ten skins a rank down from the collection buy it by contract. The set holds two Restricted finishes and one item at the output, so the trade-up returns the Poseidon. The rifle is an input too: ten of them give the set's one Covert item, the AWP | Medusa.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The M4A4 | Poseidon has neither a StatTrak version nor a Souvenir edition.
Stickers and craft on the M4A4 | Poseidon
The pale base is a convenient background: dark contrasting stickers read, pale ones vanish. Free space sits on the magazine and stock; the side panel with the figure is better left alone. Factory New is paid for clean edges, and a sticker comes off only for good.
Who this wear suits
Factory New is worth it in these cases:
- a clean pale base with no gray edges is wanted;
- an early Bloodhound finish matters more than a recent CS2 release;
- the rifle heads for a CS2 showcase rather than matches.
The premium for the top grade is small: Minimal Wear is about a quarter cheaper and that is the whole gap. A pale body shows wear at once, though, so the difference is visible in the preview.
