The M4A4 | Spider Lily in Field-Tested (FT) is the point on the scale where the scarlet lilies on the receiver are still whole. The edges and the thin threads between the blooms lighten here. By float it spans 0.15 to 0.38. It is a Restricted skin, and it drops from the Operation Riptide Case, where its collection is listed too.
What the M4A4 | Spider Lily looks like in Field-Tested
The base is dark blue, with turquoise swirls along the handguard and receiver; the stock is lighter than the rest of the body, the magazine is steel-gray and the barrel dark. The main subject is gathered on the receiver side by the magazine well: scarlet spider lily flowers with thin whisker-like petals, from which red threads stretch over the body. A gold plate lies at the muzzle, and the sights are gray.
The petals and whiskers read separately, and small light marks stand on the receiver. In Field-Tested the edges of the receiver and handguard lighten first, and the red threads on the raised spots break before the flowers do. The blooms sit on a flat surface, so they stay whole across the whole band of the grade.
Within 0.15 to 0.38 the M4A4 | Spider Lily changes to the eye, so a listing is chosen by its number.
Where the M4A4 | Spider Lily came from
The finish's author is Strenson, and the work came from the Steam Workshop. The Operation Riptide Collection opened in the game on September 21, 2021. Valve titled the launch post "Introducing Operation Riptide", and the set with this finish came out together with the operation itself. The finish's number in Valve's catalog is 1097.
What to check before buying
These things set listings of the M4A4 | Spider Lily apart:
- the float within 0.15 to 0.38: at the lower limit the edges are almost even, at the upper one the light areas show in the preview;
- whether the red threads are whole on the handguard ribs and the spine of the magazine;
- a previous owner's stickers, and any rename.
There is no lucky pattern to dig out of this skin: it is always the same.
What the M4A4 | Spider Lily costs in Field-Tested
The ratios to the other wears are these:
- Factory New is more than eight times dearer;
- Minimal Wear costs about three quarters more;
- Well-Worn is cheaper by roughly a third;
- Battle-Scarred is about one and a half times lower.
The main break lies between the factory body and everything else: on a dark blue base, clean edges show at once. The three lower grades, meanwhile, stay within one and a half times of each other.
Among Restricted M4A4 skins priced in this grade, the Spider Lily is sixth of eleven. The nearest neighbor above, M4A4 | Polysoup, is about a fifth dearer, while M4A4 | Evil Daimyo and M4A4 | Griffin are more than twice cheaper. The dearest in the rank is M4A4 | Daybreak, tens of times above it here.
Getting the M4A4 | Spider Lily
The first route is the Operation Riptide Case, where the finish sits at the Restricted rank. The route without buying is a contract: ten skins of the rank below from the same collection, with the M4A4 | Spider Lily coming out. There are five Restricted skins in the set, so the chance of getting this exact finish is one in five.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The M4A4 | Spider Lily has a StatTrak™ version. Souvenir packages for this finish do not exist, because those were made only for the tournament map collections. You can still assemble a Souvenir copy yourself: the Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary inventory skin. As a result, single Souvenir copies occasionally turn up where packages never existed.
Stickers and craft on the M4A4 | Spider Lily
There is a lot of free field on the body: the handguard and stock are covered in an even blue with swirls, and a sticker on them shows in full. White and gold logos lie on the dark base better than red ones, which sink next to the lilies. The edges in this grade are already light, so a neat build on them looks debatable. And a sticker cannot be taken off the M4A4 | Spider Lily without a trace.
Who this wear suits
Field-Tested makes sense on these terms:
- you need the rifle for play, not for a CS2 showcase;
- an eightfold premium for the factory body is not worth it to you;
- you are ready to pick a listing by float, not by the wear label.
At a distance in CS2 the flowers look the same at any float, and the difference from Minimal Wear builds up on the receiver edges.
