Description

The M4A4 | Tooth Fairy in Field-Tested (FT) was drawn peeling from the start, and the wear here carries on what the artwork already has built in. The wear's band is 0.15 to 0.38. It is a Classified M4A4, and it drops from the Fracture Case.

What the M4A4 | Tooth Fairy looks like in Field-Tested

The body is painted salmon-coral and a faded green. The paint lies in patches with drips, and a dark base shows through in places. The magazine is coral with scratched-in marks, the stock is a dark gray-green with red strokes, and the barrel is dark with coral splatter. On the side of the receiver, by the magazine well, sits a pale-yellow outline figure with lines fanning out to the sides.

The picture matches its name only loosely. Valve's description promises incisors, molars and the tooth fairy herself, but there are no teeth or coins on the weapon. The light figure by the magazine reads as an outlined creature with appendages on both sides, though its details cannot be made out. The stock and magazine carry orange-red lettering in a graffiti style, and that text is not legible either.

In Field-Tested the wear finishes off the edges: the front cut of the handguard, the corners of the receiver, the edge of the buttplate and the ribs of the magazine. The thin light lines of the figure break up before the fills do, and then the drawing by the magazine well reads as a plain stain. The coral and green fields lose little.

Where the M4A4 | Tooth Fairy came from

The finish was drawn by a Steam Workshop artist under the name 2Minds, who posted the submission on July 13, 2020. The author described the series as sharp brush strokes, corroded paint, teeth and bone fragments. The Fracture Collection is dated August 6, 2020, and in Valve's skin catalog this skin stands at number 971.

What to check before buying

Before paying, check these:

  • float: toward 0.38 the light lines of the figure are already broken;

  • the edges of the handguard and the corners of the receiver, where the painted scuffing adds to the real one;

  • stickers already on the body, and a name applied by a previous owner.

The pattern is applied the same way on every copy. Listings within 0.15 to 0.38 do differ noticeably in look, though.

What the M4A4 | Tooth Fairy costs in Field-Tested

Going up from Field-Tested, the price climbs in two steps: Minimal Wear costs almost half as much again, and Factory New about three times as much. Among the worn wears the order is uneven: Well-Worn costs about a quarter more, while Battle-Scarred is about a tenth cheaper.

Among Classified skins for this model, the M4A4 | Tooth Fairy costs the least in this wear. M4A4 | Desolate Space and one other Classified M4A4 cost about three and a half times as much, and M4A4 | Falak about six times. M4A4 | Hellfire is tens of times higher, and M4A4 | Poseidon hundreds.

Getting the M4A4 | Tooth Fairy

There is one direct route: the Fracture Case, where the finish is found. Ten skins from the rank below in the same collection can be traded up into an M4A4 | Tooth Fairy. The collection has three Classified skins, so the one you want comes out about one time in three.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The M4A4 | Tooth Fairy has a StatTrak version. Souvenir copies of the finish exist too, but no packages were issued for it, since those were made only for tournament map collections. Such copies are built through the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a regular skin from the inventory.

Stickers and craft on the M4A4 | Tooth Fairy

The base is busy and dirty, so clean geometric stickers look out of place on it, while hand-drawn and battered ones fit the theme. Coral clashes with red and pink, but white, black and cold blue read well on it. The stock and handguard are free, and the side of the receiver with the light figure is usually left open.

Who this wear suits

Buying this wear makes sense when:

  • you want a Classified M4A4 for CS2 at the lowest price in its rank;

  • you prefer a peeling texture to clean graphics;

  • you are ready to pick a listing by float, since near the 0.15 border the figure is more intact.

The premium for Minimal Wear is clearly smaller here than the one for Factory New. If the light figure by the magazine matters, look at a higher wear. At range in a match, the difference between those two wears cannot be spotted in CS2.
