MAC-10 | Fade in Factory New (FN) is a Mil-Spec submachine gun with a color transition across the upper part of the body. The float band of this wear lies between 0.00 and 0.07, while the skin's full scale ends at 0.08, so the finish exists in two wears. The skin belongs to the Chop Shop Collection, and no cases contain it.
What the MAC-10 | Fade looks like in Factory New
The transition runs along the receiver from the top: orange at the muzzle, turning red and crimson toward the middle, and darkening to blue-violet at the rear. The lower part, the magazine, the trigger guard and the wire stock stay gray metal, and the strap is olive-gray. By Valve's description, these are transparent paints airbrushed over a chrome base.
In Factory New the transition is intact along the whole length of the receiver. Wear is fixed at the drop, so a copy keeps the colors it dropped with.
Where the MAC-10 | Fade came from
The Chop Shop Collection came out on May 26, 2015, and the MAC-10 | Fade has been part of the set since release. Valve's note on Operation Bloodhound says that rewards for pass holders are issued from six exclusive collections, and the Chop Shop is one of them.
What to check before buying
Choosing a particular MAC-10 | Fade comes down to these points:
- float: the band from 0.00 to 0.07 is tight on the MAC-10 | Fade, and the extreme listings differ only by the number;
- name tag and stickers that this MAC-10 | Fade already carries.
What the MAC-10 | Fade costs in Factory New
The order of wears is reversed on this finish: Minimal Wear costs twice as much as Factory New. The Minimal Wear band is only 0.07 to 0.08, a hundredth of the float scale.
Among Mil-Spec MAC-10 skins, the Fade in Factory New costs more than almost all of them. Only Ultraviolet is higher, by more than one and a half times, and Copper Borre, by about two and a half times. Nuclear Garden and Amber Fade are cheaper by about a third, Aloha by almost five times, and Arabesque Mosaic by more than ten times.
Getting the MAC-10 | Fade
No CS2 case contains the MAC-10 | Fade. A contract for it consists of ten skins one rank lower from a single collection, and the chance of landing on this exact skin is one in five.
StatTrak and Souvenir
A StatTrak version of the MAC-10 | Fade does not exist. No Souvenir packages exist for this finish either, but a souvenir copy can be built through the Souvenir-O-Matic.
Stickers and craft on the MAC-10 | Fade
The colored transition covers only the top of the body, while the lower parts are gray and bare. The bright top is best left clean, with stickers placed on the neutral gray metal below.
Who this wear suits
Factory New makes sense for the MAC-10 | Fade under these conditions:
- you want a MAC-10 for CS2 with an orange-to-violet transition and untouched paint;
- you want the main part of the scale, 0.00 to 0.07, at half the price of Minimal Wear;
- it matters that the color transition on the body is not touched by wear.
