MAC-10 | Neon Rider (Factory New)

The MAC-10 | Neon Rider in Factory New (FN) is a skin whose price barely depends on wear. Minimal Wear costs the same, and Well-Worn is cheaper by a factor of only 1.07. The float runs from 0.00 to 0.07, and the skin's scale ends at 0.45. Covert rank, Terrorist side.

What the MAC-10 | Neon Rider looks like in Factory New

Valve describes the finish as a picture of a deadly biker. The body of the submachine gun is bright pink and the strap is turquoise. The magazine is turquoise at the top and gray toward the bottom, with halftone dots. On the side of the receiver is a white grinning skull in a turquoise hood with an orange-yellow stripe, flanked by turquoise lightning bolts and a heartbeat line. The grip carries crossed bones and yellow rivets.

In this wear the float runs from 0.00 to 0.07, which is 16% of the skin's scale. The pink paint on the receiver is solid, with no scuffing on the edges, and Valve's tagline for the finish reads "One part firearm, two parts Trapper Keeper".

What to check before buying

Before paying for this MAC-10, look at these points:

• float: the first traces of wear appear on the edges near the upper limit of 0.07;

• the name tag and stickers the weapon already carries.

There are no pattern variants, so nothing to choose there. Float offers almost nothing to choose from either, since the 0.00 to 0.07 stretch is short.

What the MAC-10 | Neon Rider costs in Factory New

• Minimal Wear is level, with a gap under three percent;

• Field-Tested is cheaper by a factor of 1.05;

• Well-Worn is cheaper by a factor of 1.07.

The spread across the whole row of wears is no more than seven percent, so there is almost no surcharge for clean paint. Of the two Covert MAC-10s, this one outprices MAC-10 | Stalker by about 1.4 times. In Factory New that gap is at its smallest; in the lower wears it reaches three times.

Getting the MAC-10 | Neon Rider

The skin drops from the Chroma 2 Case and belongs to the collection of the same case, which opened in April 2015.

Contracts return it too: you put in ten Classified skins from the collection. With two Covert skins in the collection, the chance is one in two. Covert rank also works for a knife craft, and the collection yields the Bayonet, Flip Knife, Gut Knife, Karambit and M9 Bayonet.

StatTrak and Souvenir

This MAC-10 also comes as StatTrak. Souvenir copies of the finish exist too, though Valve never released packages for it: those covered only collections of tournament maps. Building one goes through the Souvenir-O-Matic, which takes an ordinary skin from the inventory and adds gold event stickers and a player's autograph.

Stickers and craft on the MAC-10 | Neon Rider

The pink receiver is the most even field, and a sticker there shows in full. Turquoise and white stickers echo the strap, and black ones add contrast. The side with the skull is better left uncovered, because the figure is the heart of the artwork.

Who this wear suits

Factory New is worth it for these reasons:

• you want a CS2 submachine gun with untouched pink paint, at a price almost equal to Minimal Wear;

• the lower limit of the band, 0.00, matters to you;

• you are building a set of Covert skins from Chroma 2.
