The MAC-10 | Neon Rider in Field-Tested (FT) is a Covert MAC-10 whose price differs very little across its four available wears. The skin drops from the Chroma 2 Case. You can buy the MAC-10 | Neon Rider in wears from Factory New to Well-Worn, but the skin has no Battle-Scarred.
What the MAC-10 | Neon Rider looks like in Field-Tested
Valve describes the finish as a custom paint job showing a deadly biker. A finish of the same name, also with a biker, exists on the AK-47, but it is a separate skin from another collection.
This wear of the MAC-10 | Neon Rider is assigned a float of 0.15 to 0.38. The artwork is applied identically across the whole run, and a copy's wear is settled once, at the moment of the drop. Listings of the MAC-10 | Neon Rider between 0.15 and 0.38 differ noticeably in appearance.
What to check before buying
These are the things that set one MAC-10 | Neon Rider listing apart from another:
- the float inside the band, which takes a little over half of the skin's scale, and that scale ends at 0.45;
- the stickers and name tag already sitting on this copy;
- the counter version: the skin has StatTrak, but such a copy is sold apart from the regular one.
What the MAC-10 | Neon Rider costs in Field-Tested
The other wears, measured against this one:
- Factory New is dearer by 1.05 times;
- Minimal Wear is level, with a difference of under three percent;
- Well-Worn is also level, with a difference of under three percent.
The whole spread between wears fits within a few percent, so it makes more sense to choose by float and by the state of the specific listing than by price.
Of the two Covert MAC-10s, this skin costs more than MAC-10 | Stalker, by a factor of about three.
Getting the MAC-10 | Neon Rider
The skin is part of The Chroma 2 Collection and drops from the Chroma 2 Case.
For a contract to yield the MAC-10 | Neon Rider, you put in ten Classified skins from one collection. The collection has three Classified skins and two Covert ones, so the odds on the MAC are one in two.
Covert skins are also used in a craft: five of them are traded for a rare special item. The knives of this collection are the Bayonet, Flip Knife, Gut Knife, Karambit and M9 Bayonet.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The MAC-10 | Neon Rider has a StatTrak version. No souvenir packages were released for this finish: those were made only for tournament map collections. A souvenir copy can still be built by hand, though. The Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from the inventory. That is why the odd souvenir copy turns up even where no packages ever existed.
Who this wear suits
Buying the MAC-10 | Neon Rider in Field-Tested makes sense in three cases:
- you want a MAC with a biker design for CS2, and a surcharge for a cleaner wear is pointless;
- you will choose the float by its number rather than by the wear label, because the 0.15 to 0.38 band is long;
- you are putting together a set of Covert skins, and this MAC is one of the two Covert skins of the Chroma 2 Case.
