MAC-10 | Sakkaku (Battle-Scarred)

The MAC-10 | Sakkaku in Battle-Scarred (BS) is the most worn version of the skin, and this wear takes 59% of the whole scale. There are no clean wears here, because the float starts at 0.21. It is ranked Restricted, drops from the Revolution Case and is meant for the Terrorist side. The band for this wear runs from 0.45 to 0.79.

What the MAC-10 | Sakkaku looks like in Battle-Scarred

The upper receiver is painted from end to end, and on its side is the face of a girl drawn in anime style: pale skin, red eyes with white highlights. Behind the face lies a cream-and-sand background with black and red-orange rays fanning out. The grip is orange with a diamond perforation, and the magazine below it is gray. The barrel, the charging handle and the stock are left as gray metal. On the strap by the handguard, SAKKAKU runs vertically in white letters.

In Battle-Scarred the light background turns gray along the edges, and the thin black outlines of the eyes and strands go before the fills do. The diamond perforation on the grip wears away faster than the rest, because the relief sticks out. The face sits on the flat middle of the side and holds up longer than the receiver edge.

Where the MAC-10 | Sakkaku came from

The skin started in the Steam Workshop: an author going by Anbu posted the submission "Mac-10 Sakkaku" on December 8, 2022. He attached a line to the work: "You think I'm looking at you, but it's only an illusion." In Japanese, sakkaku does mean "illusion".

The art was drawn by his younger sister, who was thirteen, and Anbu calls himself a co-author. The Revolution Collection was released on February 9, 2023, and the MAC-10 | Sakkaku has been in it since launch. Valve's release note speaks of seventeen finishes by community artists and of gloves from the Clutch Case as the rare items. The number in Valve's catalog is 1229.

What to check before buying

What matters when buying this MAC-10:

• the stickers and name tag this particular MAC-10 already wears;


• float: the skin's ceiling is 0.79, and Battle-Scarred runs right up against it;


• the state of the face, since near the upper limit of the band the eye outlines are rubbed out more.

From one listing to the next the artwork repeats without change. In this wear the skin spans 0.45 to 0.79, where almost clean bodies and decidedly worn ones both turn up.

What the MAC-10 | Sakkaku costs in Battle-Scarred

Three wears exist, and against Battle-Scarred they stand like this:

• Field-Tested costs almost twice as much;


• Well-Worn is cheaper by about a tenth.

Among Restricted MAC-10 skins in this wear, the Sakkaku is third from the bottom: only MAC-10 | Allure and MAC-10 | Button Masher are cheaper, and almost level. Above come MAC-10 | Cat Fight and MAC-10 | Pipe Down, about a third higher, and MAC-10 | Saibā Oni, two and a half times higher. The top of the rank is held by MAC-10 | Red Filigree, more than a hundred times higher.

Getting the MAC-10 | Sakkaku

No other case carries this finish; it drops only from the Revolution Case. The second route is a contract: to trade up for it, you gather ten skins one rank lower from the same collection.

StatTrak and Souvenir

A StatTrak version of the MAC-10 | Sakkaku exists. Souvenir packages were not issued for this finish, since they were produced only for tournament map collections. You can still make a Souvenir copy yourself: the Souvenir-O-Matic places gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a regular skin from your inventory. This is why a lone Souvenir copy sometimes turns up where there was never a package.

Stickers and craft on the MAC-10 | Sakkaku

A portrait fills the side, so MAC-10 builds usually put stickers on the grip and the magazine. The background is light and demanding: dark stickers read on it, while light ones dissolve. Red and orange pick up the rays and look like part of the artwork. On edges gone gray from wear, light stickers vanish just as they do against the background.

Who this wear suits

Buying the MAC-10 | Sakkaku in this wear makes sense when:

• you want an anime MAC-10 for CS2 on the Terrorist side, and scuffs on the portrait do not bother you;


• the float is picked precisely, and the long band from 0.45 to 0.79 gives plenty to choose from;


• you want the most worn copy of the skin, and Well-Worn differs in price by only a tenth.

The weak spot is the light background: at this level of wear it is gray along every edge, and the portrait reads worse than in Field-Tested.
