MP7 | Abyssal Apparition in Field-Tested (FT): an orange SMG whose double outline starts losing halves at the edges. It is Classified rank, from the Dreams & Nightmares Collection. This grade is assigned floats from 0.15 to 0.38, almost a quarter of the skin's whole scale.
What the MP7 | Abyssal Apparition looks like in Field-Tested
The main color is orange with yellow spots, laid over the upper receiver and the magazine. Red and turquoise lines run across it, drawn apart from one another. That pair creates the effect of a shifted picture. A skull is formed by the magazine, with eye sockets and teeth visible. The stock and the front of the receiver are light gray, and turquoise splashes are scattered over the whole receiver.
By Field-Tested (FT) the orange base has lightened along the edges, and the outline loses one of its pair there. The skull in the middle of the artwork still reads. Valve's description speaks of souls falling into a pit, and the double image serves that picture well.
Where the MP7 | Abyssal Apparition came from
The author is Niran, an artist from the Steam Workshop. The MP7 | Abyssal Apparition appeared on January 21, 2022, along with the Dreams & Nightmares Collection. Valve's release note says the case took in seventeen finishes selected from the CS:GO Workshop. The finish's number in the catalog is 1133.
What to check before buying
On an MP7 | Abyssal Apparition listing, check these parameters:
- any name tag and stickers that travel with the listing;
- float: the closer to 0.38, the lighter the orange edge;
- the edges of the orange base, where one of the two outline halves disappears.
The pattern is the same on every copy, so there is no particular one to hunt for. For this skin the float number matters more than the label: the stretch from 0.15 to 0.38 holds a range of looks.
What the MP7 | Abyssal Apparition costs in Field-Tested
Counted from Field-Tested, the other wears look like this:
- Factory New is more than twice the price;
- Minimal Wear costs about a tenth more;
- Well-Worn costs the same, with a difference under 3%;
- Battle-Scarred is cheaper by a tenth.
The three lower wears lie close together, and the jump in price falls on Factory New. Among the three Classified MP7 finishes in this wear, the Abyssal Apparition is the cheapest, though by the slimmest of margins. MP7 | Nemesis costs a little more, and MP7 | Smoking Kills a little more again.
Getting the MP7 | Abyssal Apparition
The case that holds it is the Dreams & Nightmares Case. The trade-up also yields the skin: it takes ten skins one rank down from the set. The input comes from the collection's five Restricted skins, USP-S | Ticket to Hell and XM1014 | Zombie Offensive among them.
StatTrak and Souvenir
A StatTrak variant of this finish is available. The finish never had souvenir packages, which were reserved for tournament map collections. Still, a souvenir copy is within reach: the Souvenir-O-Matic applies gold tournament stickers and a player autograph to an ordinary skin from the inventory. For that reason, individual souvenir copies are seen from time to time, even though the packages never existed.
Stickers and craft on the MP7 | Abyssal Apparition
The artwork takes up nearly the whole upper half, so a sticker lands straight on the double lines. Black and white stickers keep their shape on the orange, while red and turquoise ones dissolve in the outlines. For a craft in CS2 the gray stock is the better spot: it has no artwork, and the outline pair does not compete with the sticker.
Who this wear suits
Field-Tested is a reasonable choice for the MP7 | Abyssal Apparition if:
- you want the double outline legible but do not want to pay twice as much for Factory New;
- you pick a listing by float, and the stretch from 0.15 to 0.38 gives you plenty to choose from;
- you need a Dreams & Nightmares Collection skin for a CS2 inventory.
The price of Field-Tested hardly differs from the neighboring worn wears, so choose among them by the float number.
