MP7 | Abyssal Apparition in Minimal Wear (MW) is the last clean wear of the finish. Factory New costs twice as much, while the three worn grades sit tight just below. Its floats span 0.07 to 0.15. It is Classified rank, and the SMG drops from the Dreams & Nightmares Case.
What the MP7 | Abyssal Apparition looks like in Minimal Wear
The base is bright orange with yellow patches, and the receiver near the stock is left gray-beige. Turquoise and red outlines run over the orange, and by the magazine they gather into a skull with distinct eye sockets and teeth. The outlines double: red goes in one direction, turquoise in the other, as in a stereo picture. Small turquoise splashes are strewn across the receiver.
The item description from Valve talks about souls falling into a pit of nightmares, and the double outline works toward exactly that: the figure does not read at once.
Wear begins with the orange base along the edges, and the double outline loses one of its halves there. Minimal Wear does not get that far. Both halves are in place, and the skull on the magazine looks whole. In MW the money goes to a complete outline, not to perfectly even edges.
Where the MP7 | Abyssal Apparition came from
The design belongs to the Steam Workshop artist Niran. The Dreams & Nightmares Collection was released on January 21, 2022. Valve built the set out of seventeen community works picked through a contest. In the Valve skin catalog the design sits under number 1133.
What to check before buying
What separates one MP7 | Abyssal Apparition from another comes down to this:
- float within 0.07 to 0.15: the double outline on the edges should be complete;
- whether the listing is a regular one or StatTrak;
- what the previous owner left on it, namely stickers and a name tag.
The spread of 0.07 to 0.15 is so small that choosing by float is pointless. The artwork is applied identically to every copy.
What the MP7 | Abyssal Apparition costs in Minimal Wear
The gap upward is large: Factory New is twice the price. Downward, the price hardly drops. Field-Tested is cheaper by about a tenth, Well-Worn by an eighth, Battle-Scarred by a quarter.
The three worn wears cost almost as much as MW, and the saving on them does not make up for the lost outline.
The MP7 has three Classified finishes, and in Minimal Wear the Abyssal Apparition ranks second by price among them. MP7 | Nemesis is cheaper by a hair, which makes it effectively level. MP7 | Smoking Kills costs about one and a half times as much.
Getting the MP7 | Abyssal Apparition
The finish drops from the Dreams & Nightmares Case, and no other case holds it.
For a trade-up toward the MP7 | Abyssal Apparition you gather ten skins one rank down from the same collection. PP-Bizon | Space Cat, G3SG1 | Dream Glade or XM1014 | Zombie Offensive will do, for example. The set has three Classified finishes, so the chance of landing this one is one in three.
StatTrak and Souvenir
This finish does come in a StatTrak version. Souvenir packages for it were never issued, because they existed only for tournament map collections. Even so, you can assemble a souvenir copy yourself: the Souvenir-O-Matic fits gold tournament stickers and a player autograph onto a regular skin in your inventory. So now and then a lone souvenir copy shows up in a place where no packages ever were.
Stickers and craft on the MP7 | Abyssal Apparition
The orange field is almost entirely packed with outlines. What stays free is the gray-beige patch by the stock and the front of the receiver. Black and white stickers hold their shape on the orange, while turquoise and red ones dissolve into the artwork itself. The skull on the magazine is the center of the design, so covering it with a sticker makes no sense.
Who this wear suits
Minimal Wear makes sense for the MP7 | Abyssal Apparition in three cases:
- you want the double outline whole but do not want to pay double for Factory New;
- the SMG goes into live CS2 matches, where the receiver is seen only in glimpses;
- you are putting together a Dreams & Nightmares Case set in your CS2 inventory.
Float headroom plays no role here. Go by the price of the listing, not by the second digit after the decimal point.
