Battle-Scarred (BS) on the MP9 | Food Chain takes a float from 0.45 to 1.00, more than half the scale of the finish. The skin is Classified, belongs to The Snakebite Collection and plays on the counter-terrorist side. In CS2 this submachine gun full of monsters stays recognizable even when worn down.
What the MP9 | Food Chain looks like in Battle-Scarred
This is one of the most variegated finishes of its rank, with color gathered in blotches on a dark base. A green tentacle winds above the receiver. Lower on the body an orange-red scaly maw with teeth opens up, and the red folding stock frame ends in a pink pad. The front grip is blue and purple with red and yellow figures, and the magazine is dark with an orange pattern. Valve describes the finish as bright, with a "food chain of monsters", and the item's tagline is "Eat or be eaten".
A bright pattern carries wear better than pale finishes do. In Battle-Scarred the scuffs sit on the edges of the receiver and the magazine, and the rich colors of the artwork hold. The dark base shows through the pattern in patches, and the green tentacle dulls slightly.
Where the MP9 | Food Chain came from
The skin lies in the Snakebite Case and has been part of The Snakebite Collection since its release, dated May 4, 2021. Valve's note "The End of Broken Fang" says the case holds 17 finishes drawn by the community, and its rare special items are the Broken Fang gloves.
What to check before buying the MP9 | Food Chain
Worth a look on an MP9 | Food Chain before you buy:
- float: the band from 0.45 to 1.00 is long, and copies differ noticeably;
- pattern: there is no point hunting an MP9 by pattern index, because the artwork does not change;
- stickers and a name tag, if they are already on the gun.
What the MP9 | Food Chain costs in Battle-Scarred
Factory New costs four and a half times as much, Minimal Wear 1.8 times. Field-Tested and Well-Worn are dearer by only a few percent. The lower wears sit almost level in price, and only the top of the scale makes a real jump.
Among the four Classified MP9s, the Food Chain is the cheapest in Battle-Scarred. Hydra costs 1.4 times as much, Latte Rush 1.65 times, and Airlock more than three times.
Getting the MP9 | Food Chain
The skin drops from the Snakebite Case. Trade-up is the second route: ten Restricted skins, taken from anywhere, give a skin from the collection of one of them. Ten from The Snakebite Collection only steer the result and are not required.
StatTrak and Souvenir
StatTrak is available on the MP9 | Food Chain. The finish never got Souvenir packages.
Stickers and craft on the MP9 | Food Chain
The finish is already overloaded with color, so large bright stickers will argue with it. Dark and single-color stickers sit best, on the dark magazine and the gray edges: they read clearly and do not break up the artwork.
Who this wear suits
The MP9 | Food Chain in Battle-Scarred is a sensible buy when at least one of these holds:
- you want the cheapest Classified MP9 in the row;
- the bright artwork matters more than the condition of the body;
- worn edges do not bother you.
