Minimal Wear (MW) of the MP9 | Spy Prototype is a wear with a float of 0.07 to 0.15, which is 8 percent of the scale. This dark gray SMG with pale blue inserts is Mil-Spec rank and belongs to The Spy Tech Collection. The MP9 | Spy Prototype is not in any case.
What the MP9 | Spy Prototype looks like in Minimal Wear
The base is graphite black and dark gray, and the weapon looks like a prototype with open panels. The blue inserts glow: the color is cold and pale, in places nearly white, with turquoise highlights. There is also a tiny red mark.
The blue lies in patches: on the side of the receiver, on the stock, under the front grip and on the magazine. Most of the weapon stays dark. The inserts read as backlit panels or transparent windows. Small white markings sit on the receiver and cannot be made out. The coat is even, and wear is set at drop.
Where the MP9 | Spy Prototype came from
The Spy Tech Collection opened in the game on July 8, 2026, and the MP9 | Spy Prototype was in it from day one. In the update notes Valve added two new weapon collections based on the community's Call to Arms announcement: Spy Tech and Arabesque.
What to check before buying
Copies of the MP9 | Spy Prototype differ in only a few ways:
- float: in this wear the MP9 | Spy Prototype has a short stretch from 0.07 to 0.15, so there is no point chasing a number;
- whether the MP9 | Spy Prototype carries stickers and an applied name.
The pattern index changes nothing on the MP9 | Spy Prototype.
What the MP9 | Spy Prototype costs in Minimal Wear
Factory New (FN) costs 2.96 times as much. Field-Tested (FT) is 2.28 times cheaper, Well-Worn (WW) 2.44 times and Battle-Scarred (BS) 3.17 times.
Of eighteen Mil-Spec MP9 skins priced in this wear, nine cost less than the Spy Prototype and eight cost more, so it sits exactly mid-row. Deadly Poison is nearly level, Sand Scale costs a seventh more and Dart a third more. Closest from below is Capillary. The top of the row is Dark Age, Pandora's Box and Hot Rod, which cost tens and hundreds of times more.
Getting the MP9 | Spy Prototype
The skin has no case. You assemble the MP9 | Spy Prototype with a trade-up of ten skins of the rank below from one collection.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The MP9 | Spy Prototype has neither a StatTrak version nor Souvenir packages.
Stickers and craft on the MP9 | Spy Prototype
The dark majority of the surface leaves plenty of room for stickers. The blue inserts sit as separate patches, and it is better not to lay a sticker directly over them. Light stickers read against the graphite, while pale blue ones merge with the inserts.
Who this wear suits
Buying the MP9 | Spy Prototype in Minimal Wear is reasonable when at least one of these fits:
- you need an SMG in a dark palette with cold backlighting in CS2;
- you are collecting a set from The Spy Tech Collection;
- you want a clean look without paying three times as much for FN.
