MP9 | Starlight Protector (Well-Worn)

Well-Worn (WW) is the second-to-last wear on the MP9 | Starlight Protector's scale. The wear band for this skin in this wear is 0.38 to 0.45. It is Covert rank, and the skin drops from the Dreams & Nightmares Case and is used by the Counter-Terrorists.

What the MP9 | Starlight Protector looks like in Well-Worn

The body splits into a light part and a dark part. The light part is the marble receiver, white with gray veining, and the cream stock. The dark part is the grip and magazine, crossed by gold lines and a diamond. The muzzle is black, and gold stars are scattered over the receiver and grip. There is a single patch of color: the unicorn with the rainbow mane toward the rear of the receiver.

In Well-Worn the wear reaches the edges, and the thin gold line along them is the first thing lost. The veined marble ground is uneven itself, so gray marks read more weakly on it than on flat paint. The 0.38 to 0.45 band takes up 9% of the finish's scale.

Where the MP9 | Starlight Protector came from

TheDanidem designed the finish. He posted the "MP9 :: Starlight" submission in the Steam Workshop on October 20, 2021 and described it as an entry for the Covert rank. By the author's account, he wanted to make a finish on the theme of sleep.

The Dreams & Nightmares Collection with this skin came out on January 21, 2022, and the MP9 | Starlight Protector arrived in the same update. In Valve's catalog it carries the number 1134.

What to check before buying

Between MP9 | Starlight Protector listings, compare this:

• float between 0.38 and 0.45: the difference in looks is small;


• a previous owner's stickers and any name tag on the MP9 | Starlight Protector.

The MP9 | Starlight Protector is a fixed pattern, and price does not depend on it. In this wear the band is a short 0.38 to 0.45, so there is no point chasing a number.

What the MP9 | Starlight Protector costs in Well-Worn

Relative to Well-Worn, the other wears cost:

StatTrak and Souvenir

There is a StatTrak version of the MP9 | Starlight Protector. The finish never had souvenir packages, since those were made only for tournament map collections. Even so, a souvenir copy can be assembled: the Souvenir-O-Matic fits gold tournament stickers and a player autograph onto a regular skin from your inventory.

Stickers and craft on the MP9 | Starlight Protector

The two zones of the body give two different backgrounds. Dark stickers read better on the marble, and light ones on the dark grip and magazine. Gold stickers merge into the gold lines. The rainbow mane should stay free, or the artwork loses its main color.

Who this wear suits

Buying the MP9 | Starlight Protector here, in Well-Worn, makes sense under these conditions:

• you want a price close to the lower wears, with a float below 0.45;


• gray marks on the marble do not bother you, and the unicorn stays whole;


• the skin is going into CS2 or a collection with no extra payment for factory edges.
