Description

The P90 | Asiimov in Field-Tested (FT) sits in the middle of the wear scale for this submachine gun. The float band here runs from 0.15 to 0.38. The rank is Covert, and the P90 drops from the Operation Breakout Weapon Case. The collection came out on July 1, 2014.

What the P90 | Asiimov looks like in Field-Tested

A white body with black panels and orange inserts: on the P90 this scheme falls differently than on other models. The P90 | Asiimov has a large, smooth body, unlike a rifle. White therefore takes the most area, while the orange is gathered into narrow stripes on the sides and near the magazine. In FT, wear follows the top edge of the body and the area around the grip. On the white it reads as a gray haze rather than chips. The black panels stay even throughout.

What to check before buying

For the P90 | Asiimov it makes sense to go over this:

  • the float: on a large white area the gray haze is noticeable earlier than on compact models;

  • the name and stickers that come with the listing.

There is no pattern spread: all copies carry the same finish.

A wide band of 0.15 to 0.38 means you will have to pick a copy by hand.

What the P90 | Asiimov costs in Field-Tested

The neighboring grades compare like this:

  • Factory New costs about a third more;

  • Minimal Wear costs a few percent more;

  • Well-Worn is a little cheaper;

  • Battle-Scarred is about a fourteenth cheaper.

The spread across the whole scale is small: from the most worn-down copy to a clean one, the price rises about one and a half times. For a Covert skin that is unusual, and age explains it: the case dates from 2014, so there are plenty of copies in circulation in every grade.

Getting the P90 | Asiimov

The P90 | Asiimov drops from the Operation Breakout Weapon Case, and the skin's collection comes from the same place.

For a contract to return the Asiimov, you put in ten skins one rank down from a single collection. Desert Eagle | Conspiracy, Five-SeveN | Fowl Play or Glock-18 | Water Elemental all qualify. Two skins hold the Covert rank, so the P90 takes half the outcomes. The wear of a trade-up result is inherited from what went in.

Above that sits the knife trade-up, and here the collection yields exactly one model, the Butterfly Knife. The finish comes out random, but the knife model is predictable, which makes the Breakout set noticeably more popular than its age-mates.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the P90 | Asiimov

The P90 | Asiimov has a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were ever made for this finish, because packages only ever covered tournament map collections. A souvenir copy can still be built by hand. The Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory. That is why the odd souvenir copy turns up where no package was ever made.

The white area of the body leaves plenty of room for stickers, and any dark color reads well on it. Black and blue stickers give the right contrast, orange ones merge with the stripes, and white on white disappears entirely. There is space on the side and nearer the barrel. That is why crafts on this P90 get built willingly in CS2: it is a rare case where the artwork does not get in the stickers' way.

Who this wear suits

Field-Tested on the P90 | Asiimov makes sense under these conditions:

  • you want an inexpensive Covert skin for CS2 to use on economy rounds;

  • paying extra for the cleaner grades does not appeal, since the gap across the scale is small;

  • you plan a craft, because there is a lot of room for stickers on the body.

On a large white area the gray haze stands out, and at the top of the band the body looks noticeably dirtier than at the bottom.
