Description

The P90 | Asiimov in Well-Worn (WW) has a float between 0.38 and 0.45, and in price it stands level with Field-Tested. Battle-Scarred is cheaper than it by only a few percent. The rank is Covert, the collection The Breakout Collection, and the case the Operation Breakout Weapon Case.

What the P90 | Asiimov looks like in Well-Worn

The base is a white body with an orange top rail, side stripes and a wide diagonal at the rear cut, beside which sits a dark wedge. Small black icons, arrows and slanted strokes are scattered over the white. Valve calls the artwork science-fiction and ends its description with the line that anyone can predict the future, while a visionary creates it.

In Well-Worn the wear is deep, and on the white area it shows as gray blotches. The edges of the body and the areas around the grip lose their cleanness first, the orange dulls, and the black icons read worse against the gray. Wear is set at drop, so the float number gives you a fair idea of how a listing will look.

Where the P90 | Asiimov came from

The author of the finish is Coridium, and its Valve catalog number is 359. The Breakout Collection came out with this skin on July 1, 2014; the P90 | Asiimov arrived in the same update.

What to check before buying

What matters when buying the P90 | Asiimov:

  • float: the spread of 0.38 to 0.45 is so small that choosing by it is pointless;

  • the stickers and name tag the P90 | Asiimov inherited from a previous owner;

  • gray blotches on the white areas: the listing photo shows where they are densest.

The artwork is identical from one listing to the next.

What the P90 | Asiimov costs in Well-Worn

Relative to Well-Worn:

  • Factory New costs 1.3 times as much;

  • Minimal Wear costs 1.08 times as much;

  • Field-Tested is level, with a difference of under three percent;

  • Battle-Scarred is 1.04 times cheaper.

The three lowest wears barely differ in price, so the choice among them is made by looks, not by cost. From the cleanest copy to the most worn one, the price drops by only a quarter.

Getting the P90 | Asiimov

The skin drops from the Breakout case. Ten skins of the next rank down, all from one collection, make up a trade-up contract for the P90 | Asiimov. The collection holds two Covert skins, so the submachine gun is one outcome in two.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The P90 | Asiimov has a StatTrak version. No souvenir packages were made for this finish: they existed only for tournament map collections. Still, a souvenir copy can be assembled by hand, since the Souvenir-O-Matic applies gold tournament stickers and a player autograph to a regular skin from the inventory. That is why the odd souvenir copy turns up even where packages never existed.

Stickers and craft on the P90 | Asiimov

Gray haze makes the white field uneven, and small stickers are less noticeable on it than on a clean body. Large dark and blue stickers read with confidence. Orange ones get lost on the inserts, white ones against the gray.

Who this wear suits

Buying the P90 | Asiimov here makes sense on these terms:

  • you want a Covert submachine gun for CS2 with visible wear but a readable orange-and-white pattern;

  • you are choosing among the lower wears, and Well-Worn and its neighbors cost almost the same;

  • you want a listing cleaner than Battle-Scarred while the price stays about the same.
