Description

The PP-Bizon | Space Cat in Field-Tested (FT) is the working version of this finish. The cat and planets on the pale base still read in full, and the gray film has settled only on the edges. Field-Tested on the PP-Bizon | Space Cat runs from 0.15 to 0.38. The finish is Restricted and comes from the Dreams & Nightmares Case.

What the PP-Bizon | Space Cat looks like in Field-Tested

The base is bone-white and cream, and the artwork is nearly black, set down in thin lines. A cat, planets and stars are engraved across the receiver and the drum, running unbroken over the pale field. The cat's face and paws can be made out, with planet rings and star dots beside it. The ring of the drum, the muzzle end and the trigger are purple, the stock is black and the grip is pale.

A pale base shows wear early. In Field-Tested it is the edges that give it away: the fine hatching along the rim of the drum and the receiver breaks up first. The flat areas with the cat and planets are still intact. The 0.15 to 0.38 band leaves room to choose: the closer to 0.15, the cleaner the copy.

Where the PP-Bizon | Space Cat came from

The finish was drawn by an artist who goes by Maloo, and Valve's catalog lists it as number 1125. Valve released the Dreams & Nightmares Collection on January 21, 2022. In its release note for the case, Valve wrote that seventeen of the finishes in the set were selected from the Steam Workshop.

What to check before buying

Here is what to compare when choosing a PP-Bizon | Space Cat:

  • float: at 0.15 the hatching is whole, and toward 0.38 the edges of the drum are already in gray patches;

  • the state of the purple ring on the drum, a narrow detail that fades before the base does;

  • the name tag and stickers this PP-Bizon | Space Cat already carries.

Every copy of the PP-Bizon | Space Cat carries the same pattern.

What the PP-Bizon | Space Cat costs in Field-Tested

Against Field-Tested, the neighboring wears stand like this:

  • Factory New costs two and a quarter times as much;

  • Minimal Wear costs about an eighth more;

  • Well-Worn costs about an eighth less;

  • Battle-Scarred costs about an eighth less.

Apart from Factory New, the steps between wears on this finish are small and follow no regular pattern. The one real premium is Factory New, where the pale base is still free of gray patches.

Among Restricted Bizons, the PP-Bizon | Space Cat is the cheapest of six in this wear. The next one up, the PP-Bizon | Fuel Rod, costs twice as much, and the PP-Bizon | Antique four times as much. The rank is compact as a whole: an eightfold gap fits between its two ends.

Getting the PP-Bizon | Space Cat

The first route is the Dreams & Nightmares Case, and no other case holds this finish.

To get the PP-Bizon | Space Cat through a trade-up, you hand in ten skins of the rank below from the same collection.

StatTrak and Souvenir

A StatTrak version of the PP-Bizon | Space Cat exists. This finish never had a Souvenir package: those were produced only for tournament map collections. A Souvenir copy can still be built by its owner, since the Souvenir-O-Matic applies gold tournament stickers and a player autograph to an ordinary skin from the inventory. That is why single Souvenir copies occasionally appear even where no packages ever existed.

Stickers and craft on the PP-Bizon | Space Cat

The pale base takes stickers well, but there is little free field: a sticker on the receiver or the drum lands right on the cat and planets. The black stock is the calmest spot, and any light mark reads there. The purple parts set a cool palette, so blue and lilac stickers fit and warm ones fall out. On scuffed edges part of a sticker goes along with the base.

Who this wear suits

The PP-Bizon | Space Cat in Field-Tested is worth buying for three reasons:

  • the engraved cat and planets read in full;

  • closer to 0.15 the base is still pale, and you do not have to pay Factory New money;

  • the SMG goes into rounds in CS2, where the hatching cannot be made out anyway.

There is no point saving further: the more worn wears are cheaper by only a sliver, and they carry noticeably more gray patches on the pale base. In CS2 the difference shows already in the lot preview.
