The R8 Revolver | Crazy 8 in Field-Tested (FT) has a purple barrel, a dark cylinder and a big eight on the grip, already with visible wear. The float range of this wear runs from 0.15 to 0.38. It is a Restricted skin that drops from the Recoil Case.
What the R8 Revolver | Crazy 8 looks like in Field-Tested
The barrel and the top of the frame are painted purple with a blue sheen, and small black crosses are scattered over it. The cylinder is dark, with pale chevrons along its faceted ridges. A big pale green eight is applied to the dark brown grip, and it is the main detail of the finish.
In Field-Tested the paint has already rubbed off along the edges, and bare metal shows on the barrel and frame. The eight on the grip is large and light, so scuffs do not hide it. Wear is set at drop and does not grow on an individual copy.
Where the R8 Revolver | Crazy 8 came from
The Recoil Collection was released on July 4, 2022, and the R8 Revolver | Crazy 8 has been in the set since launch. In Valve's note from that day, the Recoil Case is described as a case with 17 finishes from community authors.
What to check before buying
Before taking an R8 Revolver | Crazy 8, look at these points:
- float: the band is long, 0.15 to 0.38, and takes almost a quarter of the finish's scale;
- the barrel and the frame edges where metal shows, and the grip with the eight;
- any name tag or stickers the revolver already wears.
The R8 Revolver | Crazy 8 comes in one artwork, and only wear separates copies. The 0.15 to 0.38 segment is long, so the extreme copies look noticeably different.
What the R8 Revolver | Crazy 8 costs in Field-Tested
The other wears, measured against this one:
- Factory New costs about six and a half times more;
- Minimal Wear is priced about two and a half times higher;
- Well-Worn is about a tenth cheaper;
- Battle-Scarred costs the same, with a difference of under three percent.
The finish's scale is full, from 0.00 to 1.00, so Field-Tested takes up 0.23 of it.
There are only three Restricted revolvers, and in this wear the finish sits in the middle. R8 Revolver | Reboot costs about three and a half times more, while R8 Revolver | Banana Cannon is nearly level, slightly cheaper.
Getting the R8 Revolver | Crazy 8
The revolver drops from the Recoil Case in CS2, and no other case contains this finish.
A trade-up for the R8 Revolver | Crazy 8 takes ten skins of the rank below from one collection. The Recoil Collection has five Restricted skins, so the odds of getting this revolver are one in five.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The R8 Revolver | Crazy 8 has a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were ever released for this finish: they existed only for tournament map collections. You can still build a Souvenir copy yourself, though. The Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from your inventory. That is why a stray Souvenir copy turns up now and then even where no packages ever existed.
Stickers and craft on the R8 Revolver | Crazy 8
The barrel is taken up by purple with crosses and the grip by the eight, so stickers go on the dark cylinder and the frame. Yellow and white stickers read well on the purple background.
Who this wear suits
An R8 Revolver | Crazy 8 in Field-Tested is worth buying for these reasons:
- you want a Restricted R8 with a bright eight and a purple barrel for a CS2 loadout;
- there is no reason to pay six and a half times more for Factory New;
- worn paint is acceptable, but the picture on the grip must stay readable.
If you need clean paint, Minimal Wear costs about two and a half times more, but its float is lower, 0.07 to 0.15.
