SSG 08 | Acid Fade (Factory New)

SSG 08 | Acid Fade in Factory New (FN): a Scout with an acid-green fade, and Factory New is the only wear it has. The other four do not exist: the float ceiling is cut off at 0.03. It is a Mil-Spec skin from The Safehouse Collection, and in CS2 the rifle is available to both teams.

What the SSG 08 | Acid Fade looks like in Factory New

The body is dark, and the color sits on two parts. The scope tube is bright lime, and at the rear of the chassis black blends smoothly into acid green and runs back to the stock. The barrel, grip, bipod and scope mount stay gray.

Valve describes the finish as translucent paints applied with an airbrush and fused together over a chrome base. This wear of the SSG 08 | Acid Fade covers floats 0.00 to 0.03. The band is tight, and the wear is set at drop: it cannot build up over time.

What to check before buying

What sets one SSG 08 | Acid Fade listing apart from another:

• the float: in Factory New this finish has any number from 0.00 to 0.03, and no other values exist;

• the applied name tag and stickers, which stay with the SSG 08 | Acid Fade;

• Souvenir or regular: Souvenir copies are marked with gold tournament stickers.

The 0.00 to 0.03 band of the SSG 08 | Acid Fade is tight, and the outermost listings differ only in the number.

What the SSG 08 | Acid Fade costs in Factory New

The wears cannot be compared here, because Factory New is the finish's only one. So the price is read through neighbors and versions.

A Souvenir copy in this wear costs more than a regular one by thirty-odd times. Among Mil-Spec SSG 08 skins the regular version sits in the lower part of the row: only two are cheaper, SSG 08 | Mainframe 001 and one other. SSG 08 | Blush Pour, SSG 08 | Memorial and SSG 08 | Zeno cost from a tenth to two-fifths more. Within Safehouse, of the three Mil-Spec skins this one is the middle: Five-SeveN | Silver Quartz is cheaper, and FAMAS | Teardown is dearer.

Getting the SSG 08 | Acid Fade

The finish has no regular case. Souvenir copies used to drop from the DreamHack 2013 and EMS One 2014 Souvenir Packages, and regular ones are made through a trade-up.

A trade-up for the SSG 08 | Acid Fade takes ten skins of the next rank down from the same collection. Safehouse has six Industrial Grade skins and three Mil-Spec, so the odds are one in three. The skin itself can go in as an input: the collection has a single Restricted skin, M4A1-S | Nitro, so the result is known in advance.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The SSG 08 | Acid Fade has no StatTrak version. A Souvenir one exists: the finish is part of the DreamHack 2013 and EMS One 2014 Souvenir Packages.

Stickers and craft on the SSG 08 | Acid Fade

The chassis is dark, so light stickers read on it at once. Green ones blend into the gradient at the rear end, while pink and purple ones contrast with the lime. The barrel, grip and bipod are gray, and the colored accents are gathered on the scope and the rear end of the chassis.

Who this wear suits

Buying the SSG 08 | Acid Fade in Factory New is worth it if:

• you want a Scout for CS2 with a lime scope and a green gradient on the chassis;

• you want a finish that has no other wear;

• you are matching bright stickers to a dark chassis.

Souvenir copies with gold tournament stickers cost tens of times more than regular ones.
